Group G
1. Deutschland
2. Colombia
3. Slovenija
4. Hayastan
5. Zhōngguó
6. Kazakhstán
Damn, no luck at all with this draw...Deutschland and Colombia are both very strong teams (ratings over 75.0). Hayastan is at the same level as Slovenija.
Slovenija won last season already in a friendly against Zhōngguó, so it should be possible to win again and Kazakhstán is very weak.
3rd place should be possible, but it will be very hard to qualify for the World Cup...However, if I would win the elections, I will do my very best to get good results.

I decided to run again in the elections.
I'm not totally satisfied with the results this season. All results were more or less as expected. I lost 4 matches against much stronger teams (Germany and Colombia) and I won the rest of the matches against weaker teams (only the win in a friendly against Belarus was against a stronger team).
The problem is not the defence (although the defenders are getting old), but the lack of strong central midfielders: players with defender, pace, playmaker, technique and passing. A lot of midfielders are lacking either defender or technique. This makes the team very vulnerable against stronger teams and it's almost impossible to dominate in these matches.
At the other hand, the future is not too bad for the Slovenian NT. With young players like Janzic, Klemenc, Jurcek and Nahtigal (who is unfortunately in a team without an owner), the team will have several top players for the coming seasons. And Adamovic is getting older, but Mocnik is not too bad as a replacement either.
I would like to continue my work as a NT coach and make sure that the players are getting stronger and receive the right trainings. This season, Slovenija passed the 70 mark in ratings and this should happen more often in the next season. I also brought Slovenija back to the top-40 in the World ranking and would like to continue gaining places. This is also important for the WC qualifying draw at the end of next season. With a higher ranking, you would get easier opponents...
There will be a Mini World Cup next season, so I subscribed Slovenija as well. It's a nice chance to be competitive against teams from the same strength as Slovenija. The goal is to reach at least the semi finals in this Mini WC...
Any questions or remarks, please let me know.
Greetings,
Demont

I decided to run in the elections for the Slovenija NT.
As I mentioned in the U21 topic, the big gap in ranking between Slovenian NT and U21 has been closed. This is not only because of the good results of the U21 team, but also because of some disappointing matches of the NT. Almost all friendly matches were (heavily) lost this season...I believe the team has more potential than that.
Next season is a WC season, so this means Slovenija will only play friendly matches. I will try to win as many matches as possible (like I did with the U21 team this season), to get the team back in the top-50.
Cheers,
Demont

There will be a Mini WC next season. I think Slovenija NT should join this as well. I took the liberty of subscribing the NT for the Mini WC on the international forum (otherwise we might be too late as there are only 32 places). If I don't become the NT coach, there is still plenty of time for the new coach to unsubscribe if he wants...

You are talking about potential of this team, but how can you do it?
If you look at todays match thats great example, we are better for a whole match, but for every action we need dificult combination in the midle, beacouse ous strikers are weak. At the other side they don´t have any nice action as us, but their striker was unstopable than he scored 3 time and all match was ...

I saw the match against New Zealand and it was a bit unlucky to lose that one.
At the other hand...if your defenders are not good enough (too slow, not enough defender), then you should not put them so high on the pitch. It makes you very vulnerable as you saw today. I would organise the defence the same way as I do with my own team: low defence that is going foward when the opponent is approaching our goal (I only conceded 6 goals last season in the 2nd strongest league of NL).
And if your strikers are too weak, you should try to create goal scoring opportunities from crosses from your midfielders/wingers. Both goals today were a good example of that.
I don't know the skills of all players, so I can't say too much about tactics, but I think it was possible to beat New Zealand today...

5-4-1 is bad tactics against opponent as new zealand is. Even against better opponent as we are is 5-4-1 bad, because then you only wait to not get a lot of goals...
I do not like this tactic, why we play so defense with so not good NT teams?
My vote goes to demont because I do not see better NT coach for us.

you are playing 5-4-1 play to pull maximum a draw,do not think a NT coach wants to pull a draw, is more profitable to play a 4-1-3-2 to Winger on stage attack and a 5-3-2 on defense stage ;).

See our last three opponents at NT, where we can play more offensive if not there? I do not see much "easier" opponents then they are. If we play against them 5-4-1 or 6-3-1, then we must against much better play 8-1-1...
I try this way to defend before, but look at first match with lietuva they look at our crawl defensive and killed us with 3 long range shots.
You cann´t compare league vith NT level.
