Hello all,
In this topic I will share all information with you about the Slovenija U21 team. Offcourse you are very welcome to discuss about the matches or anything else :-)
At the moment I'm very busy with the scouting. If you have a U21 player that might be good enough for now or in the future (I'm also very interested in 17-19 year old players), please send me a mail with his skills (and talent).
The U21 match schedule is not ready yet, but I made sure that the first weeks are covered:
Week 01: Daehan Minguk U21 5-0
Week 02: Andorra U21 7-0
Week 03: Misr U21 (Mini WC U21 - First Round) 4-0
Week 04: Crna Gora U21 (Mini WC U21 - Quarterfinals) 3-1
Week 05: Moldova U21 (Mini WC U21 - Semi-finals) 2-5
Week 06: Senegal U21 3-0
Week 07: Hayastan U21 0-1
Week 08: Ukraina U21 0-2
Week 09: Sakartvelo U21 2-0
Week 10: Shqipëria U21 1-2
Week 11: Costa Rica U21 2-0
Week 12: Pilipinas U21 1-4
Week 13: Al Maghrib U21 2-1

I don't think we will go through to the knockout stage in the Mini WC, the team is not strong enough at the moment. I'm looking for equal opponents for the weeks that are still open, I don't want to play against too strong teams.
Tomorrow we play against Daehan Minguk (South Korea). I'm expecting a win.

Slovenija U21 5 : 0 Daehan Minguk U21
I didn't review this match yet, but I was happy with the overall performance of the team. South Korea didn't produce a single shot on goal, while Slovenija scored some nice goals (also from crosses from the side). Especially the midfielders Pekosak, Naglic and Jazbek were quite strong. I'm confident we will win more matches this season.
In the meantime I'm still busy with scouting players. Please let me know if you have a Slovenian player that might be good enough (in the future) for the U21.
Next match is against Andorra U21. I'm expecting a win again :-)

Anyway, I was afraid that Slovenija would be very weak this season, so it was good to see some nice attacks. Even against a weak opponent :-)

Andorra U21 0 : 7 Slovenija U21
I will try not to be too excited for cevap (2 goals from Abramovic btw :P), but it was a good match. Especially the first 25 minutes were nice to see, with some good goals. I'm also happy with the rating of 48.7. This is much better as last season. Hope we can pass the 50 mark soon.
When I started, Slovenija was on 62nd place in the ranking, with 1392 ranking points. After 2 matches (against weak opponents), Slovenija is 59th with 1454 points. Hopefully this will improve more and more.

Yesterday was the First Round (there are only 14 teams). Here are the results:
1. Albania U21 - South Africa U21 2-0
2. Moldova U21 - Paraguay U21 2-0
3. Ireland U21 - Crna Gora U21 3-2 (after penalties)
4. Misr U21 - Slovenija U21 0-4
5. Peru U21 - Island U21 1-2 (after extra time)
6. Lietuva U21 - Cymru U21 1-2
7. Malta U21 - Ecuador U21 2-0
Crna Gora go through as best loser.
Slovenija won 4-0 against Misr (Egypt). A solid result, Slovenija lost 1-4 against them 4 weeks ago...
But other than the scoreline suggests, it was a close match. Misr had some good chances and we were lucky not to conceed any goals. It has to be better next week.
Anyway, Slovenija is in the Quarterfinals now, where we play against Crna Gora (they went through as the best loser). This could be a close match again.

We won again, but it was a boring match :-) Slovenija deserved to win though, because we had more and better chances.

1. Ireland U21 - Ísland U21 1-0
2. Slovenija U21 - Moldova U21 2-5
As expected, Moldova was too strong. We were leading 2-1 at half time, but with the injury of Jazbec and the lack of stamina and pace in defence, Slovenija had no chance in the 2nd half.
Anyway, I think it was a good result to reach the semi-finals :-)
Next week we play against Senegal U21. This should be a win again. I will try to win as much ranking points as possible the rest of this season.

Hayastan was slightly better, so I can live with this this result. But I can not live with the fact that we've lost again 2 midfielders due to an injury :-( We have almost no midfielders left for next week...
I'm still looking for an opponent for next week (no match was planned yet), but maybe it's better to skip next week and just don't play. What do you all think?
