Subject: Save Norge !!!!

Julius [del] to All
This is a helpless scream, because the situation is indeed CRITICAL.....

Hardly any user joins Norge....
Many users quit....

Last season when I substituted deallus, Norge had about 32 users. You managed to boost this number to sth over 70 (great thanks to aetius).

Currently Norge has 58 users and the number is still dropping....

You've got probably the best possible coach in SK - Guguś. I don't think you will have any problems with qualifying to the finals of the World Cup.

But then .... ?

Remember that none will achieve anything if he doesn't have the necessary tools - I mean players that are born in SK, when any new team appears.

If nothing is changed here, I think that no one will take the responsibility for the results of Norge National Team....

Is the effort worth the risk, when only a few active Norwegian users care for their National Team and for the growth of Norge ?

well I am doing my best but my players are mostly rubbish anyways so...

I meant here recruiting new users and advertising Sokker everywhere where it's possible.

A single user with junior school is not enough for Norge to be stronger than Sverige (just to give you the example) :|

You need hundreds of such a users playing and training players longer than one season. It's the minimum for the country to achieve anything :(

To train a really good player you need a couple of seasons with good trainers.....

That's why I think the situation is so bad here :(

only place to advertice the game must be in "the other game" (aka hattrick)... Then the game is pretty advanced, it took myself loootsa trying and failuring before I manage to even edit a lineup, so a better guide might be a good idea. I also dislike the presentation of the gameweek, there shouldn't be days where (quote) "nothing of interrest happens", as most players like to just go in for half an hour to check if anything has happened (makes them more connected to their team).

But the complexity and variables available should be pointed out and explained to new users from the very start of the game. If not, it occurs as if the players are running randomly around on the pitch, shooting in random directions (which was my first impression btw, I recently discovered the complexity and variations available).

Another idea is to try to get rid of all bot teams as fast as possible. Make promotion an option for all active teams, its pretty frustrtating when I look at div. 1 that seems to mostly consist of bot teams, knowing that only the best team from the 2.nd division groups get promoted. Get human teams as high up in the system as possible as soon as possible

Yes... some sort of guide would be very useful....
I'll try to write sth like that, but no sooner than in February :(

There are many days when sth happens:
*Monday - fans join the team
*Wednesday - cup or friendly matches
*Thursday - training
*Saturday - NT matches, new junior in school
*Sunday - league matches
That makes only 2 not-interesting days :]
Considering the fact that you should arrange a friendly, that leaves only Friday free ;)

But the complexity and variables available should be pointed out and explained to new users from the very start of the game.
In many countries there is sth like a Tutor-Mentor system, where more advanced users help newbies. It succeeded for example in Italy.

But I think this should done within people in your country - as you have many experienced users.

I'm afraid that's impossible...
People asked for it before, staff refused it, so now it would be unfair towards other nations. Remember that bots are almost not training.

I think this fact wouldn't be so frustrating for you if a 4th league in Norge appeared, but I'm afraid it looks like this: first the growth then the 4th league.

There are many guides concerning sokker available on http://www.sokkerhelp.org

But this doesn't change my opinion, that the main part concerning recruiting new users to SK should be done by people from Norge.

We should have a helping program, not sure what it is called, but it has worked in other countries..

I could always be a mentor or whatever, but I haven't got the energy to look for people who need mentoring.. I can answer questions, but I'm not much more use I'm afraid.

about the bots, it might be an idea to allow more teams to get promoted then untill the two highest divisions were full of player managed teams?
2006-01-04 03:35:49
the two highest divisions will be full of player managed teams within the next two seasons (by then SK Løver (currently in Eliteserien) will be gone), so I don't really think that's necessary.

Maybe someone else would be willing to help in building a mentor system in Norge ?

Plan for Norge should look like this:
1. Advertising Sokker (-> new users)
2. Searching for newbies and assigning a mentor to a newbie.
3. Mentor must contact with newbie by sk-mail.

So - now... it's only the matter of finding people for the point 1 (maybe aetius + anyone ? ) and 2 (what is actually not so tough, because the numbers of teams IDs are next to each other).

I think deallus should be considered as the head mentor of Norge.

How to find a newbie ?
Find his TID:
http://62.233.129.98/sokker/glowna.php?teamID=7218
The address you may get by opening a team in a new window of your browser

Teams' IDs in Norge start with 7218 and end with 7385 (that gives 168 teams).
For now the last teams that joined SK are
Årdal FK who joined on 2006-01-02.
Tustna Kickers who joined on 2006-01-02
Myking FK who joined on 2006-01-02

All human teams and bots in higher leagues then the last one are skipped.

Accually, at the moment we are 75 users in Norway...
