Good people,

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you, but that doesn't mean that nothing more has been done either. On the contrary, I'm still intensively scouting further and that is very time-consuming (also to convince owners to train their players after all). But slowly it is working. The squad for next season is very weak and we have to keep working hard on it.

We are now in the Copa America and we have survived the group phase. Now we are in the knockout phase against Colombia. (see Link here for more information)

I'll be back later to present an overview of the squad. I am very much dependent on your cooperation. I expect a stronger connection to the U21 :). There I will also address our goalkeeper problem and present a possible solution. But first we will enjoy the game against Colombia.

So, we dropped out of the Copa America (Link last post from me). We delivered a good game against Cuba. Although Cuba had a stronger team than we had (compare the ratings), we were able to keep up absolutely and partly dominate. Even good tactics have their limits on bad days. But such an effort like against Cuba gives me the courage to surprise the qualifying.

Squad Season 51 - World Cup Qualification

- Age for already considered for the upcoming age update -

GK

Ingar Evensen (19)
Freddy Smedsrud (20)
Jonathan Bakkehaug (19)
Hans Storsveen (18)
Lars André Leikvoll (18)

Observations on this:

I have now selected 4 goalkeepers into the inner circle. This position will be our weak point for a long time to come. For this reason, I have recruited two 18-year-olds. One of them actually seems to train goalkeeper and the other one only gets pace for the time being.

I will mainly observe in this position and scout for goalkeepers. We absolutely need a goalkeeper here who can become divine in goalkeeper. Since everyone is almost equally good at the moment, I will give priority to the younger goalkeepers.

DEF

Freddy Mæhlum (21)
Eilert Herfindal (21)
Lars Overvik (21)
Ulf Grøndalen (21)
Torleiv Skarsvåg (21)
Ole-Kristian Haukedal (21)
Øyvind Eid (19)

Observations:
I have never had so few DEFs available in a U21 selection. In addition, the best defs have no form or tactical discipline. That makes it very difficult for me to design good tactics. I hope that this situation will improve a bit in the next few weeks.

Herfindal is our top man in defense. I will have to scout for 20-year-olds here as well. It shouldn't be that only the 19 year old oath is the next best defender. I guess we'll have to do without Mæhlum in qualifying. His form and tactical discipline has been low for weeks and it does not improve.

MIDS

Odin Njærheim (20)
Emil Skotnes (21)
Vidar Mordt (20)
Trond Veiby (21)
Gjermund Klaussen (21)
Mats Kjeldsberg (19)
Ulrik Ulvin (19)
Oddmund Liland (19)

Observations:

We have two top stars here. One is Njærheim and the other is Skotnes. Both are irreplaceable, otherwise we will lack strength. Njærheim will only be 20 and that he will be trained in Norway makes me very happy! (by xistein).

Since I need 4-5 mids, Mordt and Veiby are in it. Both are good all-rounders and hard-working players, but they cannot decide games like Njærheim or Skotnes.

For this purpose, I have selected three more up-and-coming players, which means that I am following the development of these players very closely and I think Mats Kjeldsberg could become a big one and he will get stakes again and again.

ATT
Sindre Nistad (21)
Terje Severinsen (21)
Sigurd Nordmark (21)
Mats Nordanger (21)

Observations:
Here we are strongest! We even have a prodigy: Nistad. He would also be in demand in other stronger nations in the top 16 and I am so happy that he is playing with us. After that, we have three other good strikers who have an U21 level. But even the best strikers can't do anything on their own when other parts of the team are a bit weaker. Nistad has already won a lot of games for us, but the pressure is very high for him ;)
I will have to think about the youngsters here as well. So far I haven't found a reasonable 19 year old striker

Oh, before I forget: I have been scanning intensively since last season and I already have my own database of Norwegian players. I would now like to provide some information on a weekly basis (if I have the honour of being re-elected).

This week I present the situation around the youth school. First we want to find out how many Norwegian clubs have a youth school.

This is a very good result. If 80% of all clubs already have a youth school, then we have a good basis. With three clubs I had to mark as "not available" despite having a school, because two of them are practically inactive (the players are over 30 years old) and with the third school the manager is blocked. Nevertheless, surprisingly very few youth players are trained really well. With a few exceptions, many top players from Norway have been trained abroad. Why is that?

Secondly, I would like to show here which Norwegian team has the most youth players. The age was limited to between 16 and 20 years old. Although Vandalen FC has the most players, there are hardly any under-21 players. Godset or WPG Jets have produced some U21 players.

Next match: Danmark U21 - Norge U21

The age update is through and now I can at least now check who has improved significantly and who has not. I have now made new personnel decisions. Apparently there are two goalkeepers who are trained optimally and it is important to support them in this training.

In defence we will not use Herfindal for the time being, because his tactical discipline is too deep. (This also applies to two other defenders, but they are chronically always low).

Unfortunately we have to do without the services of our star striker Nistad in the attack. He injured himself for a little more than 2 weeks.

Thx for updating him! For the U21 we need higher skills, but I will watch your player!

@all:

Normally I would play a U20 game, but since we have to pass the qualification first, then the focus is on the U21s. The World Cup qualification is very difficult, because we caught Belgium as well as the Czech Republic. Under normal circumstances, Norway will be able to reach third place. But if we want a bit more, we have to score points against the Czech Republic and/or Belgium. That is difficult, but not impossible. That's why I will continue to play the U21s and, depending on how things go, I will also slowly integrate the U20s.

Oh yes, our opponents are called:

1. Česká republika U21
2. België U21
3. Norge U21
4. Bolivia U21
5. Hong Kong U21
6. Īrān U21

To conclude: the elections will run until Sunday. For those of you who have not yet done so, please vote. I would also be very happy to get more votes, because I want to continue working with you and the motivation is very high.

This is going great!

Sénégal U21 - Norge U21 1:6

It was also funny that both teams played with a 3 defensive chain. That seems to work slowly in Norway and it allows us to work on goal chances in the front.

World Cup Qualification - Opening - 1st Matchday

Thanks again for placing your trust in me! Now we're really going for it! We play Bolivia tomorrow night. I actually rated Bolivia weaker, but a comparison between the two nations shows that we are not the favourites in any way, but they are. The average score for our team is: 440 516 $, while the Bolivians have a score of 473 969 $. In addition, they have an experienced U21 coach who already worked for Bolivia last season and therefore know their players well and they were able to achieve a good result against Spain's U21. It will be a close game and unfortunately we have to complain about the injury of our 2 best strikers (Sindre Nistad and Terje Severinsen). These losses are so heavy that we will have a really tough time against Bolivia, who is known to play well in defence. Therefore we have to rely on the services of our top players Emil Skotnes and Odin Njærheim.

U21 general

Since I am dependent on the staff of the Norwegian users, I would now like to gradually deepen the cooperation of the Norwegian users with the national team step by step. Unfortunately, I have heard about Lorre and soe here and it would be nice if others would get in touch and help to bring the U21 and NT forward.

For this purpose I will more or less every week until the end of this season I will provide helpful information about the U21. Today we start with a series of lists of the best U21 players in various positions (goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and striker). Today it's the goalkeepers' turn. As you can see, I have opened a thread for this. You can also update your skills there and also check where your players stand in comparison to the others. I think that such a list motivates not only you, but also all foreign managers to bring their own player forward.

So, the list is here: [U21] Norge Best GK

For inputs, wishes, inquiries of all kinds I am at your disposal

Match report of the 1st match day
The nervousness of the coach also had an effect on the player! Early on we conceded a stupid goal. The starting position was even more difficult after 15 mins, because in this match we not only had to do without our first two strikers, but also had to play with a very inexperienced goalkeeper, who is only 18 years old.

Bolivia, unlike us, had two top goalkeepers and they were very difficult to beat, plus they defended very low, which makes it even more difficult for us. So I thought it was going to be a fight. I would have been happy with a draw.

But no, our team showed a moral and how! After a throw-in on the left side Veiby flanked the ball towards Nordanger and then he shot the ball into the goal. A very cheered goal.

Then something incredible happened, so much so that I fell off the stool. Our Njærheim served a super long pass from our own half to the striker Nordanger. What a pass that was! Nordanger practically only had to push in the ball and the turnaround was achieved and then we could control the game a bit. Bolivia occasionally dangerous, but this time our goalkeeper could save! These are three valuable points!

@all:

New! Best list Defender in Norge
For this week I have now compiled the list of the best defs (U21 to U18) and it is now that I do not have the skills of all players. If you know the skills or see them somewhere, I need your help.

We have some pearls, but unfortunately too few for each age group, so we often have to use players from different age groups for a U21 game. But this is nothing new ;)

ah yeah, here the link guys! I recommend you to subscribe to this thread! You can also post your ups there

Matchday 2

Norge U21 - Česká republika U21

Number 4 in the world and a regular World Cup participant and often the co-favourites for every World Cup event. I don't have to say a lot and we go into this game as outsiders, but it's also a chance for us to score points. But for that the Sokker gods must be on our side.

It's good that we can use our strong striker Nistad again, who has recovered from his injury. If anyone can score goals at all, it's him! His congenial striker partner Severinsen is unfortunately still injured. But I don't have to have high hopes and expectations. The Czech Republic really is a strong team! Damn!

Match report: Norge U21 - Česká republika U21

Well, well, well. What a result! Unfortunately I made a big mistake and fortunately I was not punished for it. I actually used two tactics for the game, but I guess I used the same tactic twice, but both tactics would have been absolutely suitable for the game.

By the way, I decided to choose a different field, because in a normal field we would probably not have a chance. The opponent's goal was similar to the one against Bolivia: our goalie is still very green behind the ears and the Czech striker shot so sharply that our goalie didn't even notice the shot!

Then I adjusted to the fact that there's a goal festival for the Czech Republic, but no! What a fight and so beautiful how our new mixed defence with Njærheim as head of defence supported our Keeper Storsveen massively.

The front, on the other hand, didn't want to work. The Czechs have a super strong defence compared to ours! I already said in my previous post that whoever can score a goal is Nistad and that's exactly how it was!

In any case we are more than happy with this point. Normally in a match like this the Czech Republic wins about 95 times in 100 duels.

The highlights are coming tomorrow! Nistad's goal simply shows why he is a top striker!
