Subject: [NORGE] Juniorskole

A pretty new thread, but extremely important for the future of Norge.

I know that a similar thread could exist here, but I'd like to ask everyone for some help here.

There are only 2 ways Norge Landslag can get new players:
*new users from Norway in Sokker
*increasing the number of youths in junior school

I've already asked you for advertising SK on other forums (like Hattrick, Managerzone etc.)

The other way you may help Norge is to concentrate on junior school.
Our National Team really needs new, young players. I'd like to ask each of you to increase your effort here: consider recruitment of a better junior coach (if you can afford him of course) and keep 6 slots free every Saturday.

Why ?
*most Polish users and users from abroad do like this.
*from 1 to 6 new youths may come to the youths school every week. Decreasing the number of slots means that you actually limit your chances of getting a youth with potential.


I'll present you my algorithm for junior school

*I keep 6 slots free every week, no matter how many youths will come

*I have some excel sheet, where I put training results

*I count some things:
let's say a weak youth have appear with 17 weeks (weak 17)

The most talented youths seem to pop every 3.6 weeks with magical coach (count 4 weeks, because not many of you can afford such).
I divide 17/3.6 and take the ceiling: 17/3.6=4.72, so after rounding up it's 5.
It means I can expect a maximum of 5 pops (if he's talented enough), so the best I can get is a very good youth.

But if he doesn't pop after 3 weeks, the situation would look like this: weak 14, 14/3.6=3.88, so the best I can get is a solid one.

Some Polish users say that a youth that won't come out as solid or better should be fired. Some people keep also good youths., but I personally fire even solid, only if they don't have talent.
The only chance for them to catch up with better players is coming out from the school as 18 yo players.


The last issue here - are users that decided to quit playing Sokker (hope that it won't be any of you ;P)
If you've already decided to quit playing Sokker.... :(((
place all your players onto the transfer list !!!
It's extremely important - it's actually the only chance to rescue players with some potential from being deleted.

Det er mulig det eksisterer en lik tråd fra før, men jeg vil spørre alle om hjelp allikevel.

Hvorfor?
* De fleste polske brukere og brukere fra andre land gjør dette
* fra 1 til 6 nye juniorer kan komme til juniorskolen hver lørdag. Å senke antall ledige plasser i juniorskolen gjør at du faktisk senker sjansene for å få en junior med godt potensiale.

Dette er min "formel" for juniorvirksomheten (en tanke modifisert, siden ingen av dere har råd til en magisk/magical juniortrener):

* Jeg har 6 plasser ledig hver uke, uansett hvor mange juniorer som kommer
* Jeg har et excel-ark med treningsresultatene for juniorene
* Jeg gjør følgende for hver spiller:

La oss si at det har kommet en svak/weak junior med 17 uker. Juniorene med høyest talent bruker 3,6 uker pr. nivå (bruk 4 uker i stedet for 3,6 pga. dårligere trener). Jeg deler 17/3,6 og får svaret: 17/3,6 = 4,72, så etter å ha rundet oppover blir det 5. Det betyr at jeg kan vente meg maks. 5 pop hvis han har maks. talent. Det høyeste han kan bli er dermed veldig god/very good.
Hvis han ikke har steget i løpet av tre uker er situasjonen slik: svak/weak 14,
14/3,6 = 3,88, så det beste han kan bli er solid.

En del polske brukere sier at en junior som ikke kan bli solid eller bedre burde sparkes. Jeg sparker også solide juniorer hvis de ikke har høyt talent, ettersom de vil kreve mye trening for å bli stjerner i fremtiden.

Det siste jeg vil ta opp her er brukere som har bestemt seg for å slutte å spille Sokker (håper det ikke blir noen.. ;P)
Hvis du har bestemt deg for å slutte å spille Sokker, vær så snill å plasser alle spillerne på overgangslisten. Det er ekstremt viktig, siden det faktisk er den eneste sjansen til å redde spillere med godt potensial fra å bli slettet.

If you see for example unsatisfactory 34 in your school, mind that he could come out from the chool as even formidable player (with magical coach) or at least very good-excellent, of course provided that he's talented.

We say: By all logic, Juniors should be the way forward for all teams. It has been noted that some Polish users believe the cost of a reasonable coach, plus weekly junior school “just is not worth it”, however we believe it’s worth sticking with it! General comments

What do the school stats mean?

You get a number of stats such as the following:
Paul Warriner Hopeless 14
Jon Black Good 21

The statistics are as follows: The player's name, their average skill and the number of weeks until you can pull them. Most important is average skill, which you want to be as high as possible. It is possible to have youths as high as divine. However, they will not have any skill above formidable

How many spaces should I have?
You can get between 1 and 6 new players per week. It appears that you get more when you are doing well. So, if you can afford it, keep the junior team 6 spaces bigger than the number of juniors you have! However remember that each space costs you 8000kr per week whether full or empty!

Which should I keep?
Thing discussed earlier, Sokkerhep gives the wrong example here - please don't trust it.

Can the players improve?
Yes. The quality of your youth coach and their talent combine to give an improvement. Improvement does appear slower than for main players though – some can take 10 weeks with no improvement!

I've had players that didn't improve in 12 weeks with a formidable coach..

Thanks! But all I did was post a message in non-ht norge, and Sokker was only one of the games i recomended. Sokker is the best one but i recomended battrick too. It's a brilliant cricket manager game. You should try it! If you have the time that is ;)

But anyway more norwegians should start playing Sokker. It's a great game that should be played by alot more than 50 norwegians!

I know there's something like a 3 pots with one desk on it and the job is to throw it away :] But that's all I know :D

I didn't know the rules before I started and I have to admit it took awhile before I understood them. I have seen about half an hour of real cricket in my life so I had a lot to learn. But I guess being an Nt coach in sokker means you have enough to do allready :)

Is it similar to baseball ?

Both games use a bat and a ball ;)
Some parts of the rules are simiar I guess, but they are two very different games. I think it's easier to understand cricket if you understand baseball, but to be honest I don't have much experience with baseball.
