Subject: Trip to België
- 1
Hello!
I will be on a trip in Belgium for a week, i would like to get some inspiration from you too:)
I will sleep 3 nights near Brugge (at friend), and 4 nights in somewhere Brussel.
My questions:
- What do you suggest as a MUST to visit in the 2 area?
- What shold we avoid (to expensive but got nothing for the price)?
- We will use local transport, so also interested in is there any 3-4 day full transport ticket for tourists?
- Is there any possibility to get cheap mobile data (~1 gb) for the week?
- Where should we sleep with my girlfriend in Brussel?
Thanks in advance

What do you prefer to see? Nature, architecture, ... ?
Transport: I'm not sure, but busses/tram are controlled by a different company than railway. Also in Brussels the underground/tram/bus are controlled by yet another company ...

as i can carry only 1 baggage, we can not really prefer nature:)
So im looking for famous city points that we should not miss basically.

I'd pick 2 days in Brugge as that's your starting point. It's only 20 minutes by train to Ghent, so I'd recommend that.
For Ghent, others can help you better. For Brugge I'd start with a stroll through the city (it's not that big and if your friend has time he can show you the 'unknown' places too). You could also visit a brewery (it's not the best one if you ask me, but you'll get the impression). If you're religious, try to see the Holy Blood chapel (and the blood of christ). If you're more into renaissance art, there's some nice museums, ... it really depends on your preferences :)
4 days in Brussels is quite a lot, so you'll have to visit some things away :)

Ghent is a must see and a great city to stay in. What you should visit there depends on your interest, but the historic city center is pretty. If you want to have a nice night out, Ghent is a great place aswell. Good restaurants some fun clubs.
I think 4 days in Brussels is a bit much. Maybe you should include Antwerp or Liege in your trip.
(when in Brussels, don't go to mini-europe.)

Leuven would also be interesting for 1 day. Plus it's really close to brussels.
You come for 1 week?
Calculate 1 whole day traffic jam within... :-p

Oh, okay, then it's only a half day of delayed arrival time :-p
It was great, In Ghent we slept in Faja lobi, it was interestend surianmese place, we really enjoyed it :)
Brugge was also impressive, and 2 day was totally enough from Brussel (Hotel Bedford).
Visited Antwerpen also (including Rubenshaus), and slept 1 night next to the airport in Charleroi South Hotel.
Thanks for the information!
