Bayern Munich Deal Costs Danijel Pranjic €700,000
Negotiations between Eredivisie outfit Heerenveen and German giants Bayern Munich about a transfer fee for Croatian international Danijel Pranjic had reached an impasse in the past couple of days, but the transfer was all of a sudden sealed earlier today.
Pranjic has now made it clear that he's the one to thank for the transfer as he has paid a fee of €700 000 to complete the deal.
"I got a phone call earlier today that Heerenveen's asking price was still a problem for Bayern. That's when I made the decision to pay the difference between Heerenveen's asking price and Bayern's offer myself," said Pranjic to Voetbal International.
"Heerenveen asked for €7.7 million, while Bayern refused to pay more than €7 million. The transfer has cost me a serious amount of money, but I'm happy that it's official now.
"I've had four beautiful seasons at Heerenveen and I'm very happy with my transfer to Bayern. However, I'm really disappointed with the way things went in the end."

Grappig. :)
Die 700.000 zal hij bij Bayern wel snel terugverdienen. Tis dus eigenlijk een soort investering. :)

Liverpool face triple wage demands from Javier Mascherano
Liverpool’s expected signing of Glen Johnson is likely to increase the pressure from Javier Mascherano for a substantial wage increase as Barcelona hope to exploit the player’s unhappiness at Anfield.
An agreement has been reached with Portsmouth over a £17 million deal that would see the England right-back on a salary of around £4 million a year.
Mascherano, despite his importance to Rafa Benitez’s side, currently remains one of the lowest paid first team players on Liverpool’s books on £25,000 a week and the player is demanding closer parity to other high earners at the club such as Fernando Torres, who is paid over three times that amount.
With Mascherano’s Argentina international team-mate Carlos Tevez poised to agree a deal with Manchester City that would see he earn around £120,00 a week, recent developments have only further entrenched Mascherano’s belief that he is under valued at Anfield.
According to a report in the Mirror newspaper, Macherano is set to use Barcelona’s interest in him as leverage to strike a new deal.
Benitez is insistent that the player will not be sold and has slapped a prohibitive £50 million price tag on his head, a figure the Catalans have balked at.
However, the ongoing uncertainty over Mascherano’s standing at Liverpool has given the European champions encouragement that he may yet be available at a reduced fee.
The 25-year-old still has three years left on his current contract after his unhappy time at West Ham was ended when Benitez rescued him from the London club’s reserves.
Real Madrid to offer Liverpol £30m for Xabi Alonso
Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso is the subject of renewed interest from Real Madrid following Glen Johnson’s move to Anfield.
The Daily Mail claims Johnson’s £18.5 million move from Portsmouth means Rafa Benitez will now have to bring in funds to continue his rebuilding plans.
The paper says Madrid president Florentino Perez has offered £30m for Alonso after Liverpool last week rejected a bid of £20m for the Spain international.
Alvaro Arbeloa could also be the subject of interest from Madrid following Johnson’s arrival, with the Spaniard likely to struggle for a regular starting place.
At the weekend, Alonso said the pound’s weakness against the euro made a return to Spain more attractive.
“Of course we footballers think about it; we are not stupid, we keep an eye on it," Alonso said. "When you see your contract down by 30 per cent you cannot be happy. I cannot do anything – it must be Gordon Brown or David Cameron.
I think the weakness of the sterling is not helping the Premiership because for those competing and fighting against the European teams it is a big weak point. Hopefully over the next few months and years it will get back to what it was not so long ago."
His Anfield colleague Fernando Torres admitted he was concerned about losing his Spain team-mates Alonso and Arbeloa, but insisted that playing for a club with the traditions of Liverpool was more important than money.
"I worry about losing my team-mates, of course," Torres said. "But when you play for a team like Liverpool you don't have to worry about that. You are a top player and you will get a good contract. You don't have to be scared to lose a little bit of money."

Barcelona To Fight For Lille’s Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard is accustomed to speculation surrounding his future and now Barcelona are interested in him once more...
Barcelona are weighing up whether to make a formal offer to prise highly-rated Eden Hazard away from Lille or whether to wait until next summer when he has more experience, according to a report in Sport.
The Blaugrana have monitored the Belgian starlet since his appearance at the Under-17 European Championships in 2007 and believe that he could be ready to join them.
But the Barca hierarchy are wrestling with the thought that he may be better staying in France and playing regularly for Lille than joining them and playing a bit-role next term.
Hazard has been watched by many of the continent's biggest sides, with interest in England particularly high as Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all made enquiries about him.
One plan that Barcelona are mooting is to discover Lille's asking price and then try to set up a deal that sees him loaned back to the Ligue 1 outfit for a year.

Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda has signed a contract extension with the club.
The winger had two years remaining on his existing deal, which has now doubled in length.

Manchester United Ready To Pay €60 Million For Sergio Aguero - Reports
The striker has been rumoured to be leaving the Vicente Calderon this summer...
Manchester United are reportedly ready to pay €60 million to sign Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid this summer.
The Argentine striker was not in great form last season but is still regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe and United are apparently keen to bring him to Old Trafford.
However, as was reported earlier today, Atletico have stated that they will not be accepting any bids for Aguero or Diego Forlan, so any offer would have to be above his buy-out clause.
Marca reports that since Cristiano Ronaldo is all but gone from Old Trafford, United are ready to spend the €60 million to bring 'Kun' in.
