According to a report in the local daily The Manchester Evening News, Manchester City may offer Jo to Everton as part of a deal to sign Joleon Lescott.
There has been plenty of speculation recently suggesting that the Citizens are preparing to make an offer for the 6ft 2in defender who can operate in a central position or as a left-back.
It was reported on Wednesday that the Toffees were ready to reject a £15 million offer for the six-time capped England international, while earlier on Thursday sources suggested they may be open to a bid of £20m or possibly a cash-plus-player exchange deal involving Micah Richards.
However, it is now thought that with the likes of Robinho, Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz at Eastlands and Carlos Tevez and Samuel Eto'o still on their wishlist, 22-year-old Jo may be deemed surplus to requirements and therefore allowed to leave.
The three-time capped Brazil international spent the latter part of the 2008/09 campaign on loan at Everton, scoring five goals in 12 games, so it is thought City might include him in part of a bid for Lescott.
