Drogba verlengt contract bij Chelsea met twee jaar
Didier Drogba heeft duidelijkheid gegeven over zijn toekomst door zijn contract bij Chelsea te verlengen. The Blues maakten woensdag op hun digitale thuis bekend dat de Ivoriaan nu tot medio 2012 vastligt bij de Londense club, waarvoor hij sinds de zomer van 2004 uitkomt.

Liverpool heeft de opvolger van Xabi Alonso binnen. Van het Italiaanse AS Roma wordt middenvelder Alberto Aquilani overgenomen. Over de transfersom zijn geen officiële mededelingen gedaan, maar naar verluidt betalen The Reds zo'n twintig miljoen euro voor de 25-jarige Aquilani.

We wisten al langer dat Xabi ging vertrekken, en trokken al een maand aan de mouw van Aquilani, dus alles was vrij rap in kannen en kruiken :)

The 25-year-old passed a medical and signed a 5-year deal with the Reds and is believed to be earning around £80,000-a-week, but the midfielder will have to spend a considerable amount of time with the physio before he can don the famous Liverpool shirt. Aquilani looks set to be out of action for up to two months...
