Subject: U21 - valgtråd / election thread
what nonsense? pointing out that one of the candidates is a very new user, with limited experience is a valid argument, and might be important information for the ones who haven't noticed..
2 days left of voting..
Any candidates have anything to say at the finishline..
Any candidates have anything to say at the finishline..
me something to say? Why thank you kind sir!
I have the experience of managing an u21 team already. Ive been in sokker for nearly 5 real life years (wow). I have the tools already coded to help Denmark keep tabs on their future stars and these tools will be at the communities disposal on day one of my tenure, if elected. We play Canada within 5 days of the elections closing so there will be no time to scrape about looking for players etc and thats where my tools will come in very handy indeed.
I dont use static tactics and always play to my teams strenghts and of course the opponents weaknesses. I took Scotland all the way to the last 16 with a userbase of 89 - now thats not too bad is it?
For me, personally, with the userbase Denmark have i would be expecting at least a quarter final appearance, otherwise it would be a failure.
I would like to wish all the candidates good luck, and whoever wins it have an enjoyable time. Running an U21 side takes a lot of time but its enjoyable every step of the way.

rtg >> you have stated you wouldnt take the community´s wishes so much in too consideration... can i ask you why??? And does this also mean you will not involve the community so much??
Davornmar >> you have stated you would like to hear to the voices of the community, but is this underdue to not being sure or???
Both>> will you be playing any u/19 matches in friendly
Both>> how big an role do you think PM has. Ie would you prefer lvl 14 passing and lvl 10 PM or lvl 12 in both for an midfielder that otherwise are equal.
Both>> are you using wingbacks, or do they only have the role of controlling the opposites wing

hi adaca - thanks for the questions - i am heading off to work right now but i will answer them in detail later on.
On the community question i can answer quickly right now. I stated that it didnt matter that the community thought that Canada was a more important game than another team. This doesnt matter a jot as ALL games are must win and its up to the manager/coach to decide who is the toughie and who isnt.
I stated earlier that in Scotland, when playing friendlies, i would run a guess the time of the first goal and goal scorer and whoever got it right would get the chance to pick the actual team for the friendly game (if they so wished). This gives users an insight into who to pick and why and gives them valuable experience in the u21 field - hopefully one day they will then run for election (as has proven to be the case in Scotland - where there are 2 users who got to pick the team last season who are now running as u21 candidates).
U19 games - that always depends on the opponents coach. Sometimes it is good to play U19s and i have done in the past, BUT, ranking is more important now (just look at Englands group). So it will be a decision to be made on the day, between both coaches. Personally i will play U20,U19 as long as i feel it doesnt detriment the chances of us winning :) It also helps to give these players games to keep the owners really interested and focused on training that individual
Ok i must dash - last two answers will follow soon

Compared to my opponents have three major advantages:
1) I already know the Danish community, through last season I spent with great commitment to the NT-Danmark Staff.
2) I come from the Italian community, one of the largest and most competent community in the Sokker world where you are daily confronted on issues of this fantastic game.
3) I can offer you, through my friendship with Vikingo67, the possibility of integration between your two national (Senior + U21) by a single staff and a long-term project.
Finally, to summarize:
Goals: WC-U21 qualification + Ranking improvement.
Scouting: I am a software engineer and will dedicate my efforts to develop scripts needed for the collection and automatic processing of XML files from the server, but above all to develop a new online NTDB for Denmark. Obviously with these tools I can not avoid the hard work necessary to daily send/receive skmail.
Tactics: I have a favorite modules based on the 4-3-1-2, but I often change the positions depending on the characteristics of the opponent. Obviously I'll use the Vikingo's technical support, one of the best tactical coach in the Sokker world.
Staff: I have a great desire to create a Danish staff, for a greater involvement of your community, and initiatives aimed at enhancement of your talents.
Good luck to my opponents, however the elections will end, I will continue to work for Denmark and I will be happy to collaborate for the U21 too.

1) I would like to be not alone in this adventure, in order to grow the interest of the community on the NT-Team and to grow myself too, exchanging ideas on players and tactics.
2) Yes I'll play friendly with the U19, sure against similar or weaker teams. There are many Italian Coaches who drive foreign U21, against whom we could arrange U19 friendlies: for example Pilinas U21 and Belarus U21.
3) I am sure that the balance between skill pays much more. Then I'll give the preference to balanced midfielders in PM+Pass+Pace+Tech.
4+5) I think the wings are mainly used to create numerical superiority in offensive actions. I don't think that wings may have particular differences of use between U21 and Senior NT, I think it depends from coach's tactical ideas.
6) First point: I don't think I'll use the defense with 5 players, Italy-U21 demonstrated us that it's possible to win with 4-players defense. What I'd like to change, depending on the skills of the players and the opponent characterics, is between 4-4-2 and 4-3-3. The key-role will be the midfield, where you can have players with different characteristics, more offensive or more defensive skills, on which to build the winning tactic.

How big an role do you think PM has. Ie would you prefer lvl 14 passing and lvl 10 PM or lvl 12 in both for an midfielder that otherwise are equal.
I would prefer the first option if im honest. PM while important is nowhere near as important as the 3 "secondary skills". For instance i played a chap called Owen Coulson who only had excellent PM. His passing, tech and pace however were incredible. So while some times he made the wrong decision his passes always got to the player. Playing someone with high PM and lower passing means that while he may bery well go for that killer through pass - most of the time the pass is wayward and doesnt reach its intended target.
Both>> are you using wingbacks, or do they only have the role of controlling the opposites wing
This really depends on the opposition. If they manage to have a wing threat then the wingback will be deployed who has high defence and pace. Assuming we have defenders who also have high tech and passing (pace helps also) then the odd roberto carlos run from the wingbacks is a joy to see.
both>> how big a role do you think wing domination plays in u/21 to comparison with high leagues or the senior nt
I came across a few teams who seemed to have the perfect winger at u21 level. Its very rare as wingers at this level usually do not have high enough tech to get passed the defenders - lets face it they are easily marked out the game at u21 level as i have previously done (high def high pace - goodnight Mr winger). So while wingers are sort of effective at u21 level they are nowhere near the threat as in the NT teams. They do have to be watched tho, and of course utilised properly in the Danish team. With the recent ME changes it seems to be that if you have a forward who is over 7-10cm taller than the oppositions defenders they are winning 100% of the header duals. Greg doesnt seem to think this should be the case and the staff are trying to get stats from games to work out if it is true or not. While it may be true its certainly an option which any experienced manager will try to take advantage of.

Ok firstly tough opponents MATCH REPORT This was against Serbia - the best team in Scotlands group by far. Scotland had to win this game to ensure we got to the last 16. I played 2 high wingers and 2 central striker to attack attack attack that Serbia defence. I knew serbia would be a threat going forward so it was a time to leave the midfield gap and play 5 defenders with a DM in position 7 (who was 19 at the time). It worked a treat - we won the game 4-3 despite giving away a 5 point advantage to Serbia. Another match was the 2 against Austria in that qualifying group. This is where the kill the winger tactic came in and that worked a treat - winning that game again despite not having the best average mark. That game is here.
3-4-3 against Hong Kon HERE 2 strikers central with one just behind the two.
4-4-2 against Indonesia HERE. The strikers form didnt warrent a 3 up front tactic - and also proves you dont have to go with 3 up front to score plenty goals.

i just changed my vote from davornmar to rtg, fair better ideas about passing contra pm, and actually knows that the higher level the better wing domination is.... great reply, was sick of you trying to find weakness in opponents instead of showing own strenght, so hope you show why YOU should be voted in the last days of the campaign.. :) .... even though id preferred you had more interest in listening to the community....
ill let the experience win....

oh no mate im being misunderstood here. I will listen to everything the community has to say - i was referring to the poll one of the other candidates started. The community is key and i only hope that come the end of my tenure (if elected) there will be a number of Danish users fighting it out to take over from me.
Oeh okay, i just understood it like that two times from your post.... :) But then i have no problems that i put my vote where i has... :)
just to show you im not joking about being ready.
Denmark NT Database
I have a language file which will require translation which i can send to anyone wanting to translate the file. (if elected of course).

Umm... I think that is not in rtg's culture to involve the community in his job, like he sad only in the last day... but it's only a my supposition...
