I wish I could speak your language... :)

Anyway, no more questions?
2009-08-25 23:08:39
Are you a dog or a cat person?

:)

Loe kandideerija infot RK hääletamisnurgast. Ju meie targad panid pead kokku ML's ja kutsusid kellegi tõsiseltvõetava kandidaadi RK ette otsa kandideerima .. Väga hea valik imo.

A dog once tried to bite me, since then I'm a cat person... But in general animals don't like me for some reason :S

I have various reasons, the most important one is that I always try to seek new challenges, and leading a world class NT is definitely a new kind of challenge. And when some Estonians came to the international forum telling that they doesn't have a candidate they like, I thought that this is my chance.
The least important is that when I was a little boy, a group of Estonian actors came to our school to perform a scene about... something which I can't recall now and they left a nice impression in me :)

I like cats too, you get my vote!
2009-08-26 01:14:01
Thanks :)
2009-08-26 09:43:55
About the actors. How is it possible that you remember the impression about the scene but not the scene itself?
2009-08-27 15:18:22
Feelings are easier to remember than details. You can't remember something that you don't know what it was exactly, but you know it was good? :)
2009-08-28 02:12:35
Will you start learning Estonian language? :)
2009-08-28 02:35:51
I suck big time when it comes to learning languages, but I promise I will learn at least a few basic eesti expressions if I got elected :)

Let's see.

Player 6 is basically a 5th defender, he needs mainly defensive abilities, especially pace since Singapore most likely doesn't have high-technique players on the midfield. For that role I would choose number 3. Number 7 also looks good, but number 3 has higher secondaries.

Next one to choose is player 9. He is the most important player on the midfield. He runs a lot, so he needs to be fast and he will need to be substituted. He needs a lot of passing, since he's the one who gets the throw-ins. He needs high playmaking since he's playing fairly close to the defender line. He might be confronted with defenders or defensive mids, so high technique is also useful. I would choose number 1 for this position and substitute him with player 6 around the 60th minute.
On a sidenote, I could also imagine a player with some defender skill, but there's no such player with high enough passing, so that's why I chose a winger-type player for this position.

Player 7 and 8 are identical roles with a bit of defensive attitude and most likely a lot of free space. Singapore usually leaves that area wide open, except with the tactic called Broken Wing, but they rarely use it.
I'd choose number 2 and number 8 for these positions, they have enough defender and passing and they are also fairly fast. Technique is not that important since they will most likely have enough free space to pass the ball away if an opponent player rushes at them. I'd also put a conditional order, if we're losing by at least a goal in the 60th minute, I'd bring in number 4 instead of number 2 in order to strengthen our offense.

So:

6 - 3
7 - 2 (4 in the 60th minute and onwards if losing by at least 1)
8 - 8
9 - 1 (6 in 60th minute)

@Vilpu: fortunately not all managers are thinking in the same way. That would be boring :)
