Sigur [del] to All
Why Estonia and not Belgium?

We all know that Estonia is better, remember the 2-0 victory against Belgium?

Short personal sokker history:
Started playing sokker on 2005-08-18. After a slow start I reached 2nd division in Belgium. Than I decided to sell my team and start building a new one. Last season promoted again to 3rd division.
My team is almost on the same level as some seasons ago.

History in elections:
2nd place in China
3nd place in Belgium
2nd place in Belgium
1st place in Iceland
1st place in Iceland
1st place in Belgium

In my second season with Iceland, I finished 3rd in WCQ group after Romania and Bulgaria. Iceland had only 16 users at that moment.
With Belgium, currently on the 2nd place of the world ranking.

Targets:
- Qualify for the WC.
- Find and follow potential players for U21.
- Help managers to set up proper training/youth if needed.
- ...

My biggest weakness is that I do not speak your language. But if needed, this can be solved if somebody is willing to translate.

Questions are welcome.

Kind regards,
Sigur

(Sorry for using the wrong forum, it's different in Belgium)

Right now you are the best candidate, but I still have some questions for you:

1. As you know, being a U21 coach isnt an easy job. (Almost every week you have to update skills etc.)

So, will you find and follow all potential players yourself or you will "hire" scouts?

2. What tactics would you use and why? How good tactician are you?

And finally, do not worry about the fact that you cant speak Estonian. We understand English quite well. :=)

So, will you find and follow all potential players yourself or you will "hire" scouts?
I will depend on the motivation of my scout. I have learned that they are less motivated at the end of the season. It will be no problem to find some scouts, some belgian managers are happy if they can help me. But is an estonian manager also wants to be a scout he/she is always welcome. It is not a one man show. But if my scouts stop doing there job I will take the lead to keep all players up to date as good as possible.

I also did this in Belgium when all my scouts had exames for school.

2. What tactics would you use and why? How good tactician are you?

Best tactics in U21 are 442 and 451 depending on available strikers and midfielders. Wingers are most of the time useless, unless there is a worldclass winger.
Belgium has a very nice winger and he didn't play very well. This is the most important thing I have learned.
With Iceland I got some nice results against stronger teams. For example, I won against ukraine who where 30 places higher on the world ranking.
So I think ,I have enough experience to create good tactics.

What do you think about our group? Who is/are the strongest opponent(s)?
2011-03-05 10:01:01
1. Eesti U21
2. Österreich U21
3. Scotland U21
4. Ísland U21
5. Belarus U21
6. Tūnis U21

Belaus, Tunis and Island are not a threat to Eesti. Of these 3 teams Island is the strongest, but they lost all there good strikers due to the age update.
Most dangerous teams will be offcourse Scotland and Österreich. I think the most dangerous team will be Scotland. They has a very experienced manager and he knows his players very well.
Österreich also lost some key players due to the age update.

So it say, Scotland will be the most difficult oponent, followed by Österreich.

My prediction :
1. Eesti U21
2. Scotland U21
3. Österreich U21
4. Ísland U21
5. Belarus U21
6. Tūnis U21

If I am correct, the current database is an excel sheet?

If I will be chosen (I know, small chance because I'm not an estionian) I would like to start using the ntdb.sokker.cz database as almost every country uses.
It is very handy to use, to update etc... This is very important, I have seen it in Iceland, In 3 seasons they went from place 67 to 51 on the world ranking.

It is much easier than an excel sheet and reachable by more than 1 user.

So there will be a lot of work to get this database up to date. Once this is done, you will see that this will help the NT a lot.

I also want to let you know that, if I lose the election I am willing to help the U21 coach with setting up the database and other stuff if necessary.

Some advantages to use the NTDB for the managers who don't know the system:

- More managers can connect to it at the same time.
- Password protected. Only authorised mangers can login.
- easy to update players. (using the Osokker extention for Firefox)
* For the coach.
* For the scouts.
* For the managers who own potential players.
- Filter on name, age, skillpoints.
- Easy to see if the player is no longer up-to-data.
- Easy to update the players form every week.
- Filter for new added players, if they are too weak you can delete them.
- Other managers are updating there players without interference of yourself.

A lot of U21 teams are already searching friendly games for next season.
Maybe it is a good idea that someone does it also for Estonia?
Else there is a chance that it will be difficult to find decent opponents.

Congrats Yff,

Good luck with the U21.
Hope you will start using the NTDB, it will make everything easier.

If you need my help, you can always contact me.

Special thanks to the 11 voters who want to give me a chance.
