Subject: Linguist needed

Hello, I have noticed that many phrases on new Sokker pages are untranslated in some languages and Estonian is among them, so, seeing that your country does not have dedicated linguist, I came here to ask if there is someone here natively speaking Estonian and proficient enough in English and willing to help this game, and especially to help Estonian community, so he/she could become Estonian linguist and translate phrases which are untranslated so far? It will mostly help Estonian community, so it should be good for all of You.

There has been translators from time to time, but they all stop to do the job as the job is actually a huge work. I have been translator as well and I remember the amount of things you have to do. The main problem is actually not the amount of work, but the payment for it. If sokker would give for the translator free plus, there will be some people to do the job, probably.
I have been sending the requests for admins and owners of sokker every time there was a volunteer with enthusiasm to translate English to Estonian, but unfortunately they are not appreciating the effort.

i believe users with an L get free plus... if you have done it before then why not put your name forward?

if i am wrong about the free plus then i agree 100% you should get that if you are helping/working for the game...

That free plus is possible but I am not sure if you get one for being L. Raul told me that there are free pluses for linguists but some linguists say that they didn't get one. Also, I nominated about 6 linguists recently an I definitely didn't assign plus to them because I can't (but maybe they get one automatically). Anyway, I am investigating that case and probably there are/will be free pluses for linguists but I can't be sure.

However, I do not agree that being L here is a lot of work or is hard. You can easily, steadily translate whatever is to translate in small portions. This time it's not translation from scratch as only new pages lacks it and maybe some entries in the game rules.

Well, don't want to scare away some enthusiastic people/people with free time.
For me it took some time of my life and as I value my time more, when you get older and more responsibilities, then whatever additional time effort I do, it should be paid one or other way. And I do not mean just sokker.org...
Being with family and friends is only free job, I do! :)

i think if anyone is helping making the game easier/better deserves a reward, i think plus works out at less than £2 a month? surely worth that ;)

Yes, the work is not overwhelming. Bit by bit it is manageable. But, for sure, whatever the work amount is - it should be rewarded!
I remember the times, when there was news couple of times per week. And this was before the AI could do most of the work. Google translator was a joke for Estonian speakers. Nowadays, all this helpers could make the work a lot easier.

It would help improve the game surely? Peoples time like your own is important and appreciated ;)
