									Candidacy for the Estonia U21 National Team
Dear members of the Estonian community,
I am excited to present myself as a candidate for the head coach position of your U21 National Team. I strongly believe in the importance of training and developing young talent, and this philosophy has always guided me throughout my experiences on Sokker.
My Experience
Over the years, I have had the honor to coach several national teams:
with the Jamaica and Japan senior teams I took my first steps on the international stage, gaining valuable experience with different football cultures;
with Nicaragua I took part in a World Cup, achieving prestigious results such as draws against two giants like Romania and Germany;
I also spent many years in Denmark, coaching both the U21 and the senior national team, helping to develop many players who later became key figures of Danish football.
At club level, I reached the Italian Serie B, building a competitive squad through careful player training and development. Thanks to this work, many of my players were called up to their national teams.
My Project for Estonia U21
If I receive your trust, I will dedicate all my experience to building a steady growth path for Estonia U21. My plan includes:
Youth development: carefully scouting Estonian prospects and giving opportunities to players who can become the future of the senior team.
Collaboration with clubs: maintaining constant dialogue with Estonian club managers to coordinate the training and growth of young talents.
International competitiveness: preparing the team not only to gain experience but also to achieve results against strong opponents, proving Estonia can compete at high levels.
Long-term vision: establishing a project that looks beyond the short term, laying strong foundations for the future of Estonian football.
Acknowledgements
I would like to thank my friend Torquemada for the excellent work done with Estonia so far and for introducing me to your community. His passion and dedication have been an inspiration, and I will strive to continue along the path he has built, adding my own experience.
I am convinced that, with everyone’s effort, Estonia U21 can grow and achieve great results. I kindly ask for your support: together we can build a bright future for Estonian football.
Thank you for your attention and trust.

									Kandideerimine Eesti U21 koondise peatreeneriks
Head Eesti kogukonna liikmed,
Mul on suur rõõm esitleda end kandidaadina teie U21 koondise peatreeneri kohale. Usun tugevalt noorte talentide arendamisse ja kasvatamisse ning see filosoofia on mind alati juhtinud minu teekonnal Sokkeris.
Minu kogemus
Aastate jooksul olen saanud au treenida mitmeid rahvuskoondisi:
Jamaica ja Jaapani A-koondised andsid mulle esimesed sammud rahvusvahelisel areenil, kogudes väärtuslikku kogemust erinevate jalgpallikultuuridega;
Nicaragua koondisega osalesin maailmameistrivõistlustel, saavutades prestiižseid tulemusi nagu viigid kahe hiiglasega – Rumeenia ja Saksamaaga;
Minu plaan Eesti U21 jaoks
Kui saan teie usalduse, pühendan kogu oma kogemuse Eesti U21 stabiilsele kasvule. Minu plaan sisaldab:
Noorte arendamine: Eesti talentide hoolikas jälgimine ja võimaluste andmine neile, kes võivad saada A-koondise tulevikuks;
Koostöö klubidega: pidev suhtlus Eesti klubitreeneritega, et koordineerida noorte mängijate arengut ja treeningut;
Rahvusvaheline konkurentsivõime: meeskonna ettevalmistamine mitte ainult kogemuse saamiseks, vaid ka tulemuste saavutamiseks tugevate vastaste vastu, näidates, et Eesti võib kõrgel tasemel konkureerida;
Palun teie toetust: koos saame ehitada Eesti jalgpallile särava tuleviku.
Aitäh teie tähelepanu ja usalduse eest.

									Bitter debut on the Estonia U21 bench
Not the story I hoped to write for my first match in charge… but here we are: Lithuania U21 – Estonia U21 1:0.
3rd minute
Nightmare start: Geidukis pulls off a classy feint and scores. 1-0 and we’re already chasing. Not exactly the welcome I wanted…
6th minute
Immediate reaction: Rätsepp fires a rocket that would have scared any goalkeeper, but it whistles just wide. Today luck was not on our side.
26th minute
Danger in our box: Geidukis again, but luckily this time he misses. Defense needs work, but at least no second goal.
Halftime: down 1-0, with 43% possession. We could and should have done better.
47th minute
Bright start to the second half: Sungisepp and Kose combine, but Mikutis gifts the ball away like a souvenir.
60th minute
Lithuania almost kill the game: Geidukis hits the post after Ülem’s desperate dive. We live to fight on.
68th minute
Our biggest chance: Männimets tricks his marker, the Lithuanian keeper completely fumbles… and the ball still doesn’t go in. Unbelievable.
Final whistle: Lithuania 1 – Estonia 0.
They had more possession (64%), but we created chances that deserved at least a draw.
The disappointment is real: we should have taken something from this match. Still, the team showed character and fought until the end. There’s frustration, but also belief that this group can grow and get results in the future.

									Estonia U21 – Brazil U21 0:4
It just wasn’t our night. After only four minutes, a goalkeeper blunder gifted Nonato the opening goal for Brazil, and from there things quickly went downhill.
At the 18th minute, Sungisepp nearly brought us level with a clever shot, but the Brazilian keeper’s butterfingers only gave us false hope. Just a minute later, Nonato struck again with a thunderous effort: 0–2.
The second half brought more of the same. At the 61st minute, Zanotti added a third after the ball cruelly bounced off the post, and at the 81st minute he sealed the scoreline with Brazil’s fourth.
To Estonia’s credit, the team kept fighting until the end, even managing to control more possession in the opponent’s half during the second half (56% against Brazil’s 44%).
The fans applauded both sides at the final whistle, recognizing the heart and effort from our young players. The gap in quality was clear, but the road to the U21 World Cup is long, and every setback is a lesson.
Well played, Estonia—heads up, and on to the next match.

									Latvia U21 – Estonia U21 0:1
U21 World Cup Qualifiers – a hard-fought but spectacular win!
It was a nerve-racking match for our Estonian boys, who came away with three precious points against a fierce Latvian side (and let’s be honest, those goalposts were definitely helping them out).
A blazing start
Right from the 1st minute, Rätsepp fired a rocket that missed by inches.
In the 3rd minute, Sungisepp pulled off a slick feint and curled a shot that smashed against the crossbar.
Moments later, another header just wide.
Estonia dominated, but the ball simply refused to go in: a post in the 15th minute, miracle saves from Groza in the 22nd, and chance after chance rained down on Riga.
29th minute – finally!
After a barrage of shots and more heroics from the Latvian goalkeeper, Sungisepp faked a move, took aim, and struck.
Goal! Latvia 0 – Estonia 1. The breakthrough at last.
Second half – the festival of chaos (and crossbars)
Latvia pushed hard, but the Estonian defense stood strong. Kose and Männimets kept causing trouble up front: in the 83rd minute another shot hit the post, and in the 85th minute a crazy double whammy – post and then crossbar in the same play.
Final stats:
Possession: Latvia 55% – Estonia 45%
Shots on goal: too many to count
Woodwork hits: at least three
Final verdict:
A victory worthy of Baltic warriors. Estonia U21 fought, suffered, hit the woodwork again and again, but won with heart, skill, and a touch of madness.
A 1–0 that feels like gold, with Sungisepp the undisputed hero of the night.

									Kypros U21 - Eesti U21 1:6
Date: 18.10.2025 | Weather: Clear and hot | Attendance: 60,000
Ladies and gentlemen, a legend was born today!
Estonia U21 crushed Cyprus U21 with a tennis-style 6–1 victory, led by a RÄTSEPP in full mythological beast mode, who decided to take the entire match on his shoulders and score all six goals himself.
After a slow start and Cyprus taking the lead in the 24th minute, the Baltic storm unleashed:
29’ equalizer by Rätsepp
32’, 34’, 38’ – hat-trick completed before halftime (the Cypriot keeper is still looking for the ball)
second half: just to make sure everyone remembered his name, two more goals at 73’ and 82’.
By that point, the opponents were looking at him with religious respect, and some fans were starting to wonder if he had cheat codes turned on.
Key stats:
Possession: 51% Estonia
Shots: 15 vs 8
Cards: none – just pure football
MVP: obviously, Rätsepp “The Scourge of Cyprus”.
A solid team effort, tight defense, and an attack that burned bright. If the boys keep this up, World Cup qualification won’t just be a dream – it’ll be part of the plan.

									Estonia U21 – Jamaica U21 5:0
World Cup Qualifiers U21, Group I – October 25, 2025
What a day at the Eesti U21 Arena! Over 45,000 fans in the stands, partly cloudy skies, and an Estonian team shining brighter than the sun. Estonia U21 demolished Jamaica with a resounding 5–0, sending a clear message to the rest of the group – this team means business.
It was a one-sided show from the young Estonians: 24 shots to 1, balanced possession but pure Baltic quality. And when you have Sungisepp up front, you know something special is coming.
The number 11 delivered a true masterclass, scoring a hat-trick and taking the match ball home as a well-earned trophy. A complete performance: a poacher’s goal, a striker’s finish, and a final touch of brilliance that left the Jamaican keeper helpless.
Along the way, Rätsepp unleashed a rocket for the second goal, and Uustal added the fourth with great composure.
Solid defense, tidy midfield, ruthless attack — Estonia U21 proved once again they are a team to watch. The crowd certainly agreed, celebrating long after the final whistle.
Man of the Match:
Eero Sungisepp – Estonia’s Baltic blaze!
Three goals, leadership, and the confidence of a rising star.
Next week brings a decisive clash against Sweden, a match that could define the path to qualification. With this spirit and form, Estonia will not be an easy opponent for anyone.
