Subject: Holidays in Dubrovnik

Hi dear friends,

I'd like to go on holiday in Dubrovnik and I'd like to have suggestions from you before going to the travel agency...
I've already been in your country once but I've been to Korcula, Mljet and other islands on a wonderful sailboat with my friends while this time I'm going to Dubrovnik with my girlfriend


first of all she wants sand instead of pebbles but I want to be in Dubrovnik because I love the mediterranean's old towns

I'm sure there aren't beach with sands in Dubrovnik so I thought to choose an hotel in Cavtat (just to have a sand beach near the hotel) and to go to Dubrovnik to visit the old town or take a ferry to Mljet during the morning or have dinner and go to some nightspot during the night


the problems are:
1)are there sand beaches in Cavtat for sure or was it just a lie?
2)is it possible to move frequently from Cavtat to Dubrovnik and back also during the night?
3)what do you think would be easier between staying in dubrovnik and moving to cavtat to going to the beach and staying in cavtat and moving to dubrovnik to vist the old town, the harbour and make some nightlife


however all these questions won't have sense if cavtat haven't a sand beach so if you got other suggestions just tell me

As far as I know there are some sand beaches in Cavtat, so you don't have to worry about this :). And there is an option to rent a private tour, so you can travel at the time you desire to the place you want.

Dubrovnik has a sand beach as it says...hahah...now as I know, that is a lie :)))

lo so infatti io avrei preferito prendere un caicco in modo da evitare le spiagge affollate ma non si può prendere un caicco in 2 e comunque abbiamo dei vincoli temporali abbastanza stretti

comunque è dal 25 agosto al 2 settembre perciò conto di non trovare uno sfracello :)

almeno non troverai mezzo Veneto, loro solitamente vanno più a nord :))
forse quella settimana sarà un po' più tranquilla, solitamente a metà agosto non sembra nemmeno di stare all'estero, parlano tutti la tua lingua :P

indeed the problems is that I found lots of "sandy beaches" on touristic sites but seeing pictures on google earth all those beaches were pebbles beaches

gli italiani in vacanza all'estero solitamente sono un bel problema :)
