Subject: Holiday in Croatia

Hello my fellow sokkerdudes!

We are trying to plan a holiday for about a week in Croatia in the summer, and i would like some advise from you guys ;)
We are traveling by car and we want to go to a beautiful beachplace near Istrië. What place do you recommend in Istrië? Or hotel?. I don't want to travel much further, i know there beautiful places down south.

We also want to be able to wonder around in the evening so a place with some terracces or some kind of boulevard. Not very all the tourists come ;) Just a bit more quite but nice.

Any advise i will be happy with.

aj pomozi coviku. samo ako je s autom onda moze djipat i vidit cilu istru, sve mu je blizu a ima i hrpu toga za vidit. to bi mu bilo najpametnije. a ako se vec oce kupat na lipim plazama nek odjedri na makarsko primorje

In south Croatai there are better beaches than in Istria, but if you don't want to travel 4,5 more hours than you should visit only west side of Istria coast, and my advice should be Umag, Poreć, Rovinj, all 3 small places with lot of things you can do in summer time....and after you can go all the way down Istria to Pula and some beaches near Pula like Medulin, where is also great fun

pa evo čak se i meni dogodi koji lapsus, tko bi rekao :))

Out of 3 longest 'Rivieras' 2 are in Istria. Good choice... Umag and Poreč. Third is Makarska which is probably the most beautiful but too far south for you i guess. Some say Rovinj is the most beautiful in Istria but none mentioned Opatija which is actualy not in Istria but just a bit further. Those mentioned are the most known tourist resorts but there are plenty of beautiful smaller resorts in between. Actualy, if you come with your own car that far , everything will be pretty close to check out.

don't forget to visit small places in hart of istria. in my opinion, inland is far better then seaside
