Subject: Little question

we are planning to go on a trip to Portugal, but we need to get to Riga Int. Airport to catch our flight
My question is if it is allowed to drive a car with estonian beginners licence in Latvia? I mean, do you have any special markings for beginner drivers?:p


also, how hard it is to drive through Riga to airport during the morning rush-hour?:d

we have white license.. and when we passe exam we get pink ones :) then it is no matter if begginer or not :)

how early? i thing not so hard.. yep there is in morning rush hours some trafiic jums.. bet not deadly. and only closer to riga center

ive got pink aswell, that should be okey then:p


but about the Riga traffic, how much time should we spare, to get from east side to the airport?:p
or is there some easier way to airport round the city?

well, im coming from the coastal road, i think its E67(A2) route

road goes in between Juglas ezers and Kizesers:P

What date and time do you plan? Why do you want to go to airport by a car? It would be quite an expensive to leave a car in airport territory.

well, i think they are similar to estonian roads plus we got crappy 1980s cars so it should be okay:p

Latvia primary roads are mostly in very good condition. I was in Tallinn a month ago and roads were almost as good as here in Latvia.

Bus ticket from Riga to Tallinn (one way) costs about 200EEK. We were two persons going to Tallinn and it was cheaper by Bus. We travelled by Eurolines Lux Express and it was a little bit more expensive, I think ~280EEK and it costs 280*4=~1100EEK in total. But you have a coffee for free and wireless internet connection, and you can take a beer or two without worries about which road to go :)
If you go by a car, you should find a parking place which is not close to airport but it is in airport territory. You will be carried from that parking place by a car or a bus (never used it) and it will cost cheaper.

hmm, ticket to tallinn-pärnu-riga costs 600 EEK, how come there is a 3 times difference?:d


so its 1200 EEk in total, but car is something like 500eeK.

about the parking place, it should be only 400 metres away from airport, why cant i go by foot?.p
