Hi there!
Did you open an election campaign in other countries aswell? Yes/No, why?
Will you introduce to us a new NT database or should we use existing one rixstudios NT DB? Could you please take a look at this DB and comment existing formulas in short? Do you agree with them or should try another calculations?
2008-09-17 13:28:05
1) Yes , after i saw that a local run here i didnt see a reason to run as i said before , so i went to try Sweden.
After you guys told me that i still have a chance i decided to go come back here , since i preffer to work with your NT for the reasons i said before.

2) I dont know this database , we worked with a different database which was great in my eyes , and since i know who made it i can try and ask him to make a database for us.
Thats the database:
Israel Database
More over , for players that are in the squad i have my Excell document , to follow their skills and update them every pop so i can see the squad skills and its easier this way.
How can i see the formulas in your database?

How can i see the formulas in your database?
Under "Player statistics" choose Country and Formula. Below players is written formula how player value is calculated. For instance, midfielders value (score) is calculated Pace * 1.25 + Technique * 1.25 + Playmaker * 1.5 + Passing * 1.5 + Defender * 1
2008-09-17 14:40:00
I see.
Well , lets start..

Keepers:
Corrent: Score = Pace * 1.5 + Keeper * 4.0 + Passing * 0.4
My thoughts: Score = Pace * 2 + Keeper * 3.5 + Passing * 0.4

I think pace should be counted a little more , in cases of rebounds , long shots (some may say its more keeper that counts for that , but pace is needed for the keeper to go for the right sopt in my eyes and experience) and high balls its importent , and most of the teams we will play will be stronger , so they will probably have more chances to score , and rebounds and high balls are very dangerous , so we will need our keeper to be quick enough.

Defenders
Corrent: Score = Pace * 1.5 + Defender * 2.0 + Passing + Technique + Playmaker
My toughts: Score = Pace * 1.5 + Defender * 3.0 + Passing *1 + Technique *0.5 + Playmaker *1.5

In my point of view pm is very importent for defenders , and even more for smaller teams , couse:
Low pm = Kick the ball to the stands = Opportunity for opponent to score , and we will want to keep the number of chances of our opponents as low as we can (of course passing is importent too for that , but pm is more).
Pace is importent of course , but in most cases we will keep our defence lower and will not take them too high , couse we will face much quicker and technical strikers anyway , and we will want our defence to stand before them and to not run after them , couse they will past our defenders easily if so , and in this cases defence is more importent than pace.

Midfielders
Corrent: Score = Pace * 1.25 + Technique * 1.25 + Playmaker * 1.5 + Passing * 1.5 + Defender
My toughts: Score = Pace * 1 + Technique * 0.5 + Playmaker * 1.5 + Passing * 2.5 + Defender *2

Midfielders is a very tricky position , there are some kinds of pm's , but in our level most of them will need to be defensive midfielders and wingers.
So in my point of view i will count defence , passing and pm most , couse our midfielders will be weaker than most of our opponents , and their defence will be higher than our mids tech , so i count this less , and low pace as i said about defenders can be "hide" in some way with some smart positioning.
Passing is very importent , but i can assume your players dont have high passing in this point of time , so we will try to do what we can about it couse thats something we cant "hide".
Pm of course its importent , but i count passing more importent , and i can give examples for that in our NT , but of course higher pm is better since its the "brain" of the player , but again , we will work with what we have and will build it for the future.

Strikers
Corrent: Score = Pace * 1.25 + Technique * 1.5 + Playmaker * 0.4 + Passing * 0.4 + Defender * 0.33 + Striker * 1.75
My toughts: Score = Pace * 3 + Technique * 2.5 + Playmaker * 0.2 + Passing * 0.2 + Defender * 0.5 + Striker * 1.5

Ill say again the words of: "as a small sokker nation..." ;-)
Since we will want to counter our opponents , and most of them will play with high defence and press us , we will want our strikers to be able to take advantage on long balls and hit them on counters and set pieces (as throw ins , which are very importent for us to take advantage from)
Thats why pace and tech are more importent for our strikers in this point of time , so we can get chances , and pace and tech is what will bring us chances , and in one on ones striker counts less (or not at all , as some will say).
I can give an example for that , in our compighn against Scotland and Slovenia , our best striker had very good striker , but high pace , and tech if i remember right excellent - formide tech. and he got us the chances we needed , look for exmple in the 1:1 against scotland.
So the most importent thing for our strikers will be to get chances , and hopfully they will score.
:-)

Ohh , and i forgot about strikers that the reason i gave defence some points in that its becouse against high defence our strikers may have a chance to steal the ball from the defenders and have a run for goal.
(You can see example for that in our 3rd goal last week against Belarus when our striker stole the ball from the defender and run on goal to score , he has some nice defence for a striker)

btw , i will be happy if 1-2 local managers which you guys consider in your community to be a potential candidate for NT now or in the future to join me as assistent and work close with me.
Im sure he/they will learn a lot from my experience which will only help he/them to lead the NT in the future.
(It will better if he/they will have messenger and speek english..;-)

Ok, here will be some questions from me:

1. What will be your prioraties playing against same level or stronger teams? Playing with the best players you have or playing mostly with future stars that one day could became very good players (in doing so they get more experience and training)?

2. What would be the top limit of players age in NT team?

3. I see you will make U21 team - what about U18 or U19 team? Wouldn't it motivate managers to invest more in jungster training from begining?

4. What kind of tactics would you prefere playing against same or higher level oponents (442? 541? etc.) (for example if you had equaly good players in all fields)

5. You said in you speech that you will prefere playing defencive - will you still think about playing from defence if Latvian defenders are very average (+ they are few) and other field players are better? Will you better play with average defenders or will you try to push more on midfield etc to compensate that?

And a few personal questions:

6. If you look at your own team - what, in your oppinion, is the biggest advantage of your team? becasuse as i see you have finished this season first in Ligat Ha`al. Is it players? individual tactics to each opponent? or few good tactics which work on every oponent?

7. Do you sometimes play with 3 scorers? as far as i can see you play only with 1-2 scorers. Why so? if your oponent is as this team macabi pardes hana from Ligat Ha`al.

8. What do you think about candidates from Latvia for NT Coach position? (if you analise their ligue games etc). And what do you think of current NT coach? What is his(my) biggest mistakes in NT games and in Ligue games?

Good luck in elections! :)

Thanks for the questions :-)

1) First , i will only keep in the squad players that are trained , thats very importent in my eyes since we want to get better and not stand in place , and thats part of the build up.
If a player is trained than age i will count less , since i can assume we dont have a large variation of players to choose from , every good player that is trained will be consider as possibilty (of course im not talking about 28yr old players , but players at age 24 can still be build on) , but of course younger players will be taken more in considaration , even if they are a little less better at this time , but i know i will be able to count on them in the future , and as i said before , we want to build the team for the future now , thats more importent than to win one or two matches.
In friendly matches i will play mostly with future potentials which we can build on for the future , the use of older and better ones will be taken in considaration more in official and more importent matches , but only in matches we should win or can do something in them , since we still want to have some ratings.
The amount of extra training from playing in NT is very very small , but its something , and experience is can only tribute in matches , thats one more reason to play with youngsters that are trained from now , it can only help in the future.
About pariorities for matches , well , we will play in the U21 WC for sure , since it can give us a nice test for our U21 future potentials and where we stand.
Before that there is the Mini WC , which is a tournement we would like to be in as well , since it will help me more to know the sqaud better , couse in WC matches the next season we will use some over 21yr players (im sure we have players 22-24 that are trained and importent for the future as well) , so it can be a good test of strengh for us and good learning of the squad for me.

2) As i wrote in question 1 , most importent thing is that they are trained , the limit for age in my eyes at this point should be about 24-25yr , it depends on their level and how they can be taken in cosidaration in the future.

3) If we will find opponents that will want to make U18-U19 matches we will consider that , but im not sure thats what makes people more motivated to train.
Some use this chance that a youngster played already in the NT to sell him for higher price , thats why i said in before that i belive we should try and keep potentials trained in our community couse most people have some patriotisem in them , and they wont look at only making money.
This patriotisem helps people invest in youth (you can see in my team for example , see how many local trained players i have , well , its the max i can now in tech and pm training , 10 , and i had Incredible junior coach from day one , now magical since i never got lucky to pull unearthly , and it allways showed me that investing in juniors will only help my team and my country and in my eyes thats the fun in the match , and im sure there are people here who thinks the same way , or will think the same way from now... ;-)
There are some more things that may motivate people , like making the NT more "known" for them , making more topics about the NT , let them see that this NT represents them and their community in the game and we should make the NT the best we can , so that we can beat Poland one day and have a laugh on them in their forum.... ;-)

4) I dont like speaking in numbers , i build each tactic as itself so it can be the best against our opponents.
Against equaly and same levels teams of course we will think more about attacking and winning the match (still , we wont drop out the defencive thinking) , but against stronger teams playing with attacking formations wont do us good , we need to think first about how we can stop them and make their lives harder.
Thats what i have dont with Israel NT against much stronger opponents and we had some nice and supprising results as you saw.

5) Well , i cant invent players we dont have... ;-)
We will play what we have and what we can build for the future.
As i said before , in most matches we will come as the weak NT , and i know how it is to come as the underdogs , even if we have a better pm and one less better defender he wont contribute us more than the defender , i can assume his skills wont be that high neither , and without good enough pm and passing he will be usless against better mids and defenders , one more defender will tribute much more for our formation and style of play than one more mid (for example)
even if his skills are weaker in some parts.
(And again , it depends on our opponent and how we will be the best to play against them)

6) Well , as you saw i didnt speak much about my personal team in my speach , even that i won with my team everyhing , including 4 straight Ligat Ha'al championship.
I know many people show their personal team achivments in their speaches to show off , but in my eyes personal team and NT its totaly different.
The personal team belongs only to me , no one cares about it but me , i can do what i want with it.
The NT belongs to all the community , and when the NT losses or wins its everyones team that lost/won.
Of course in my team i have some of the best players in the country , and it makes it easier , but still every match is for itself , there are some opponents which i need to change my formation and think how i can win , since they are dangerous and can make me problems , and more over , they change tactics and may be ready for mine , and there are some which i know i can beat in maybe any formation , since they dont change formations or they are weak in some parts , and in NT levels most managers change tactics and gets ready for you , thats another different thing from NT and personal team.

7) On my team i have 2 strikers , so even if i would want to i cant play with 3...
;-)
(And dont underestimate Pardes Hana , they have a very strong striker and some pm's , and he traines defence , they can be dangerous team , i never underestimate no one..;-)
And thats another different from personal team to NT , on the NT their is the varation of players to chose from for each postion , even if some are weaker.
About playing with 3 strikers , from my expirience and knowledge of the game, its wrong.
3 strikers make the offence more stuck , sometimes they think how to pass to each other insted of just shot for goal , and it means one less player in pm which can bring the ball to the strikers or one less player in defence which can stop an attack and look for the strikers.
2 strikers in the optimal situation in the game , it gives you the chance to score on a rebound if the keeper saves a shot from one striker , and there are much less situations where the striker will look to pass to the other one. of course you can play with them in many different styles , but still , two strikers in the optiional.
Even so , there are matches in which we may play with one striker , insted of a striker i may prefer another pm or defender couse i will think he may trinute to the match more and help us get a score against much better opponents.

8) Well , i cant speek about other candidates since its against elections rules i think , or at least in my eyes its and etical rule.. :-)
The same with the NT coach which i may replace , but since its you and you ask as someone who cares and im sure you want to learn more as well i will answer you. :-)
I think the 1:1 against Albenia is a good result for you , lets take the match against Scotland since i know them and their manager.
The defence somtimes goes down too much and gives their striker a chance to shot when the ball is close to your penalty area , your striker is allways in the middile , and there is allways a defender on him , maybe if you moved him a little more to the sides he would maybe had more space to run on (but still , they have much better defender to stop him)
Somtimes you took the defence too high , when the ball is in the mid area , it gave them chances for long balls to their strikers to get behind your defenders and be clear for goal.
You took your def mids to high when you attack , it makes a lot of free space in the middle if they still the ball in the mid area , it makes your defmids run more (i dont think they are quick enough for that) and it gives space for the strikers between the your defence line and the mids.
Usually they play with at least one winger , in this match they played with one mid in the side , if they would played with 2 wingers it would have made you more harm since there is not much defence on your sides , so thats their mistake.
In their throw ins they have a lot of time to the reciving player to pass for the area , maybe you could close them better on that.
Maybe that abouts it , overall they are very strong as i know , so its hard to get a good result against them (and there is allwayd luck needed..:-)
Its only proffesional critics , so i hope you dont look at this different.. btw , why not you be an assistent to me , im sure you will get to know more things as well and get more expeirience.. :-)

Its ok - i see that you have your opinion and it is good sign.

p.s. and ofcorse i would be glad to help with tips and lern some things from next NT Coach.

Thanks for answers! :)

You should learn how to make your DB automatic :)
2008-09-18 15:57:45
houh that was really long :D but good :)
2008-09-18 16:00:04
The programmer who made this DB is form my company and he is quite overwhelmed with all kinds of projects now. He has the knowlage but his priority is for big commercial projects. He knows that it should be done, but it will be somewhere in future (maybe closer to winter-spring).
2008-09-18 16:03:13
hehe
Thanks mate
:-)
2008-09-18 16:04:46
I dont think its too bad its not automatic , our database in Israel is automatic only from firefox , and me personaly (and as someone who works with browsers...) hate it and i dont use it from firefox....
And im sure others the same, so thats not that bad in my eyes...
(edited)
2008-09-18 17:17:10
well... yes... i myself use Opera, but there are some who uses firefox and asks for automatic player upload

+ it is faster to upload player skills
+ more players will be uploaded

- we have to make requirements for players so there is no spam
- lots of work for testing etc.
- only for firefox

I think that it is not extremly nessesery because i have some managers from other countries that just sends me the player skills by PM and for me it is not hard to change that player's skills from NT Coach login.
