Subject: [NT] Väinämöinen

Just a small note to say Myname is helping me with the database. He's got more knowledge than me on changing settings so we can also keep track of players which are over 21 yo but not yet fit for the senior squad. And he's offered to clean out the archive and ask for some updates.
He has been the guy who takes care of my account when I'm on holiday and so far he hasn't screwed up that, so I trust he'll do a decent job for Latvija too.

It's true, I'm not a complete screw-up ;-)

Little heads up: elections have started.
I hope you'll allow me to play the WC next season :)

Last round proved that you deserve to lead WC next season.
Difference of users and teams shows how much can achieve good coach even if your team has 15 times less managers (therefore lower quality of players to choose from).

I'll try to give it another shot at the WCQ the upcoming season if you allow me to stay on board.
I hope to stay another 2 seasons, but if we don't make it to the WC it might be a good idea for someone else to have a whole season to familiarize with the NT before the next WCQ.

So briefly the plans for next season:
- hopefully qualifying for the WC for the 3rd time in a row.
- having some U2x games during the non-WCQ weeks.

It's that time of the season again.
I'm moderately satisfied with my own performances with the Latvijan NT. We did not qualify for the WC, which means the season ahead is a whole season of friendlies. Which means it's a perfect time for someone to take the lead and try stuff out (also, it's summer months, lots of free time for the younger ones among us).
I've candidated nonetheless, in case nobody would step up, but will gladly resign if a motivated or suitable manager would arrive and gets the community's approval.

You can't expect to win higher seeded teams all the time, simply bad luck by not getting in 2nd pot.
I'm suprised you didn't decide to go for some bigger nation and if nobody decide to candidate seriously, you got my vote :)

I never coached big teams except for Belgium. It does not really appeal to me to have "almost perfect" players :)
Latvija, Cymru, Scotland, Indonesia, ... they all are teams with decent (but usually small) core players and a couple of (future) stars, where you have to decide on what skill you can hopefully have a bit lower without killing the team's performance, deciding between higher form or the better player in low form, ... :)
Agreed we cannot win all the time, but Austria isn't a world class team either (Crna Gora was stronger than I expected), so before the games you somewhat hope you can spring the surprise.
Anyway, next season I hope they organize the mini WC where some decent teams will be present (e.g. Netherlands) and then - if I get elected - I'd prefer to play some more U2x games.
