The Junior School

Sokker states that "Your club may have a sub junior school. This is where the talents are polished, the juniors with too little experience or skills to play in official matches. For the training of juniors you should assign a coach. His general appraisal determine how quickly the young talents will improve their skills. He would also decide when a player is ready for testing in the first line-up. “

It also states that “For your school you should allocate a number of places, or the maximum number of juniors training there. Every week the school can be joined by new players, provided there are still some vacant places. If there are more applicants than places, some of them will be turned down, but you will never know who was rejected useless youth or a failed star of your team. “

And.. “Juniors are entering the school with various skills, but it is their talent and the coaches general efficiency that determine how fast they would develop and whether they would be valuable players after leaving the school. At the moment a junior is ready to join the line-up you are able to see what skills this potential star of yours possesses. “

We say: By all logic, Juniors should be the way forward for all teams. It has been noted that some Polish users believe the cost of a reasonable coach, plus weekly junior school “just is not worth it”, however we believe it’s worth sticking with it! We suggest a newbie gets a coach with average to solid rating, and as your financial position improves, you can upgrade!

What do the school stats mean?

You get a number of stats such as the following:
Paul Warriner Hopeless 14
Jon Black Good 21

The statistics are as follows: The player's name, their average skill and the number of weeks until you can pull them. Most important is average skill, which you want to be as high as possible. It is possible to have youths as high as divine. However, they will not have any skill above formidable

How many spaces should I have?
You can get between 1 and 6 new players per week. It appears that you get more when you are doing well. So, if you can afford it, keep the junior team 6 spaces bigger than the number of juniors you have! However remember that each space costs you £600 per week whether full or empty!

Which should I keep?
DEFINITELY sack any tragic, hopeless or poor players. It is up to you whether you keep weak, average and adequate players, hoping that they level up whilst a junior. Remember that each space costs £600 per week – so every space taken up by a useless player is costing you cash! A good tip is to hang on to them until training on Thursday, and see if they level up before sacking them.

Can the players improve?
Yes. The quality of your youth coach and their talent combine to give an improvement. Improvement does appear slower than for main players though – some can take 10 weeks with no improvement!
