First of all, hello!
My name's Andrew, I'm from Australia and I'm currently studying a bachelor of business with a double major in human resource management and sport management (yes, I want to be a football manager some day)! I'm in the top division in Australia which is called the A-League. The last season was my second in the A-League and I was in 1st place for virtually all14 weeks. I eventually finished dead equal on points, goal difference, goals for and goals against with The_Comets (who's manager is currently the NT manager of Australia) but lost the title due to a slight technicality whereby in the instance of a dead heat it goes on league place from the season before.
Anyway I've been playing Sokker for 8 seasons now (started on the 23/5/2005!) and have won 4 leagues in that time as well as 3 second places and a 5th (last season in the A-League). I have also got to the semi-final of the Australian Cup on two occasions. Aside from this I have also managed the Indian national team for a season (its second season) which was a big learning experience. Due to time constraints however I did not run for the post again and I have not dabbled in international management since then.
Through my many seasons of club management as well as my experience of National Team management I have developed what I feel is an excellent grasp of player skills and tactics. I feel the wealth of experience I possess will definitely benefit both the Singaporean national team and also the Singaporean Sokker community. If you do choose to elect me I will make sure I arrange matches every week, create new tactics, look for new players, watch opposition games and work with the growing community (what sort of manager would I be if I didn't?! :P).
So why Singapore you may ask? Well, firstly it's an english speaking nation which is obviously my first language. I think this is a vital factor as it is very important for the national team manager to properly communicate with the rest of the community. Secondly, while it's a very small and new community, I think it has plenty of potential (don't they all say that?!). I've read the forums and noted a buzz of activity throughout and found a relative abundance of active managers all willing to learn more and more about Sokker. If you have a look at the rest of the newer nations there is maybe one or two active users on the forum and at best 5 or so active managers. The enthusiasm exhibited by a plethora of Singaporean managers certainly gives you guys a distinct advantage over the rest of the newer countries and I definitely think Singapore should be moving up the rankings quite quickly a little bit of guidance.
Now I'm obviously not here to start a slanging match because Oni-Chi has certainly done a highly commendable job. He has clearly become a very popular manager (statues have been erected in his honour have they not?!) and has got the ball rolling. I would, however, be lying if I said to you I didn't think there was room for improvement. That's why I'm standing for the position. Whether or not I'm elected I will certainly hang around and try and participate as much as possible in Sokker Singapore.
I will of course be willing to answer any questions anyone may have of me and I'd just like to thank you all for taking the time to read this. I've tried not to make it too long (perhaps failed!) :)
Cheers,
Andrew.

A very good written report but if you were keen on helping Singapore NT, does it matter if either oni-chi or you get elected? I would wish that NT managers candidates work together to bring up the nation=)
I see that you explained yourself very well ( well , too good ) , though most of us would be voting for Oni-Chi , maybe u could be second-in-charge ( Revan go on holiday ) and assist Singapore to scale higher?
You , though , are much more experienced.
Hope you will still help out even if you do not get elected as the NT coach.

Nice! Unfortunately, I've already voted for Oni-chi. He promised to buy me an air ticket to Italy, lots of pizza and hot Italiano chicks! Did you not, Oni? Hehehe... (blackmail!)
It's tough to decide man. It's obviously a two horse race between u and Oni. But Oni's the people's choice, I'm afraid. He has the edge, being here 1st. Maybe next season I will vote for you if you stand for election!
PS. We welcome you to Singapore forum. Hopefully we will hear more from you! We are gonna have a BIG party in Singapore this year! THE WORLD"S 1st FORMULA ONE GP NIGHT RACE!!!!

Come Singapore! Klvn and I be host for the week.
now i read the other thread....i leave my ticket to Oni, so you and Oni go together on holiday...."male sons" ....hahahahahahaha :)))
I think the title of NT manager is just a figure-head(No offense oni) and it is the managers behind the work that is important, no matter if you are a NT or assistants so promise to help us even if you lose Cloete?
Very well written, Cloete.
I would be very happy to vote for you but I think Oni-chi has done a good job so far. So he deserved my vote this time.
If you really means well for Singapore, then let's work together. Who knows you will gain our confidence and vote as Oni future successor.

Wow quite a few replies already, this is the sort of activity that I'm talking about. I really do think if Singapore can attract a few more users it can improve immensely. Thanks for the kind words from Oni-Chi as well, it's no surprise you're so popular. Also I will certainly be hanging around Sokker Singapore and offering a bit of input.
As I'm sure you can appreciate, however, I am far more interested in being the 'main' man. I certainly believe that a successful national team requires a collaborative effort and is not simply down to one person. But I have already assisted a few Australian NT managers and goal now would be to once again lead a team.
Originally I identified 3 nations which fit my criterion. The first criteria was that I needed to have a realistic shot at being elected. The second was that the community there was active and the country had a chance to progress. The third was whether or not I thought I could make a difference. The 3 nations I selected were, interestingly enough all South-East Asian nations, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore. Vietnam was out of the question however as very little English is spoken on Sokker Vietnam as very few of their users are fluent speakers. That wasn't an option given the importance of communication between the National Team manager and the community. With this in mind, I'd be very willing to run for candidacy in Malaysia and, should a sufficient level of support be present, it's what I plan to do.
Obviously I still intend to hang around Sokker Singapore regardless of other elections and should I not be successful in Malaysia I might consider a spot on the Singaporean NT 'crew' should I be graced with an offer. Either way I will still offer my 2 cents on matches, prominent issues and the like in the forums. :)
