Subject: Why We Have So Little Players!!!!

2008-02-09 10:26:32
A few days ago I sent an email to Sokker admins asking them whether my brother can use the same computer in our home to register a team to play. The guys at Sokker told me to tell him to register, and he did.

But then he received this email from Sokker admins:

So my brother did and made a new one, then sent them an email notifying them. Then he received this from Sokker admins the next day:

You already have a team. If you try once more, we'll close your team:
klvn01 [366783]
SOKKER CITY FC [86504]

Regards,
Sokker Admin.

They told my brother that if he try to register again, they will close MY team!!! MY TEAM!!! WTH??!?!?!? How do you think i feel after reading that??!!! Fortunately, I'm civilised and I won't use any vulgar language!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the email I sent to Sokker admins last week asking them if my brother can register:

To Sokker admins,

My brother would like to play sokker in our home. As a result he and I would sometimes be sharing the same computer. He would like to get his own team to play with.

Would he be allowed to register?

Regards,
klvn01

----------------------------------------------------------------

So as you can see, your family members cannot play sokker in the same house as you once you have registered! My brother is pissed off and frankly speaking, so am i!!

If you have the same IP address as another user (i.e. two users share the same computer) please notify us via e-mail, to admins@sokker.org.

This is in the rules and that's wat I did. So it means my brother can't play, is it? Or if he wants to play Sokker, he would have to go out of our house each time he wants to login?? But first, he has to get out of our home to register! That's RIDICULOUS!!!! And my brother is now saying:"To hell with the game!"

We just lost a potential Sokker player, and I wonder how many more from his poly.... :((

you must make another team for your brother and send an email to admin for nitified that your brother play with same IP than you
2008-02-09 11:18:24
wait....i ask to our Admin :)

p.s. Do you use also a "work PC" for your connection?
2008-02-09 11:25:49
i had the same problem
but now i'm the only one home who plays still sokker, i think the admins do not have a lot of time for this, maybe they could ask other persons to do this tasks?

As you read my post, I already did notify them before... and my brother also notified them before.. And THEY are the ones who TOLD me to tell my brother to register... And then when my brother registered, they tell him he can't! And threatened to close MY account!!

Can you believe the ppl of Sokker admins??!! If they dun allow my bro to use the same computer as I, then they should have told me when I sent them the 1st email! Not tell me to inform my bro to register.. And when he registered, threaten to ban ME!!!!!!! That's utter nonsense and unprofessional!

I'm not gonna risk telling my bro to make another team. What if the ppl at Sokker close my team down?? I'm beginning to wonder whether they know how to read emails!!

What do you mean "work PC" for my connection?
2008-02-09 12:12:40
Do you play sokker only from home or do you play also in office?

p.s. in past you have already make a "mistake" with another team...so i think that admin haven't trust about you...however i try to speak with our admin....
2008-02-09 12:19:37
because if you play also in office, while you brother play only from home....this can be a prove that there is two different users that play....
(but this is only my opinion, i don't know what think the admin)
2008-02-09 12:22:10
Well, looks like I'm not the only one who encountered this problem! If they do not allow 2 users to use the same computer, they should have said so in the rules! Period!!!! And not put this:

As a player, you should obey some basic rules:

- You are allowed to have no more than one team. If you are found to have more than one team, you will lose them all. If you have the same IP address as another user (i.e. two users share the same computer) please notify us via e-mail, to admins@sokker.org.
- All player transfers between teams whose managers use the same IP address (i.e. have ever logged in from the same computer) are forbidden.

So what's the point of notifying them??!! They might as well take away the bold part and replace the sentence with something like this:"No two users can share the same computer regardless whether they are your family members or friends. And pls do not send us any emails as we will not entertain anyone with the same IP address as another user!"

Either they need to get a better English speaker or upgrade their security level by a few notches! Not having time for these is not a valid reason. Unless they want to let Sokker remain a run of the mill 2nd rate soccer management game! Now I know why after so many years it only having 50000+ users! I dun think small countries like Singapore will grow fast if these goes on!

Enough said... I appreciate Sokker's admin trying to stamp out unfair advantages to other users, but this is not helping my brother trying to play and helping Singapore NT have more human players!

i play mostly from home.

and yes, i did make a mistake with another team in the past...and i appreciate admin didnt ban me... but my bro is innocent! however, if that's the reason why my bro can't register, then so be it! no big deal.. he should concentrate on his studies then...

but seriously, if someone wanted to cheat, he can always register many teams in his office, girlfriend's home, school, various macdonald's outlets, starbucks outlets etc, etc... we can get wireless connection almost anywhere in S'pore!!

one question:
what if a few classmates use their own laptops in the school lecture hall, or school labs or in the same mac's outlet... they would definitely share the same IP address... do they all get banned???!!

I have 2 computers and 3 laptops in my home. and my home is using wireless broadband! all the comps and laptops would share the same IP address! 1 comp belongs to my dad, 1 comp to the family. As for the laptops, 1 of them belong to my bro, 1 to my sis, another one to me.... so you see, if my bro wants to play, he would definitely share the same IP address as me!

But seriously, so wat if 2 users share the same computer? as long as they dun make any transfers transactions between them, as the rules said!!

and yes, i did make a mistake with another team in the past...and i appreciate admin didnt ban me

This might be the problem part :(.

I'll post it in the mod forums in a hope of getting it sorted.

We had a very similiar problem in Wales with a younger brother joining using the same comp as his elder brother but we got it all sorted.
