Subject: National Team
Haha. All good as long as there is height in the defence! We currently have height so thats alright. :)
Draw in away match with Việt Nam. Tough game, opponent was heavily guarded (as always) and dangerous in attack. They scored penalty only and this is the good news about our defence.
Today I've tried T.H Dinesh instead Elvin Cheong in defence. He is to heavy a little, but he was ok in general performance. M.G. Murugan as a winger and B.T. Kwong as a scorer, they are both looking good as well.
I'm satisfied today. Việt Nam is strong team, they play in World Cup and left many good teams beaten recently. But not us:)
Next match against Nigeria should be easier in theory, so I will try other options - personal and tactical.

Drawing for South East Asia - Australia Cup is completed. Here are the groups:
GROUP A:
1. Singapore
2. Prathet Thai
3. New Zealand
4. Malaysia
GROUP B:
1. Indonesia
2. Pilipinas
3. as-Sa'udiya
4. Australia
Our group is stronger than B group I think. Malaysia (rank 41) and New Zealand (49) will be dificult to beat (Singapore rank 63). But rank is just rank only, we'll fight at the pitch!:)

Draw with Nigeria. Poor match, I must admit. 17 shots = 0 goals (hallo match engine - is anybody home?:). It shows that our reserve strikers still have much to learn. B.H. Gee is very promising striker, but not ready to play at first level yet.
Injuries for Madhavi and Wah, fortunately not to long. Our defence was solid as always, that's good. Second good news is that Gordon Samivelu, playing first time, passed his test as mid-def, he was one of our best players today in my opinion. He is an valuable player.
Next match against Costa Rica will be another test match for some bench players, so don't expect impressing result too. Scouting and selection are close to finish, I need two or three matches more to try all personal options before I establish our "iron" first team.

Home win with Costa Rica. Quite good match with our highest team stats (74,7), that sounds nice.
Today I've tried next two strikers - M.G. Murugan and J.I. Perisamy. They are both good enough to play more often. M.H. Tai first time fielded was very good as a defender as well.
Hayastan advanced in the Mini World Cup, so we are looking for next week opponent.

I need to say a few words about Singapore NT players, present and future.
I spent last weeks on scouting, with bizon's help of course. Present NT is the best what we got at the moment. Another ~ 20 players is under observation, on a backup list.
I still have no information about skills of 5 NT players, last update was long time ago and their current owners decide not to share skills with us or they are banned, blocked, etc. That's bad, some of them are first lineup players:( However we must learn to live with it:)
This season will be last for a few NT players. They are 33yo, loosing skills veterans, like Boo or Kanesh for example. Glory to them but it's time to retire from NT. There is a small ammount of valuable players ready to replace them.
We got a 'gap' between 22-27yo players outside NT, where a few players only look really promissing. Most of current NT players are older than 28, so we need potential replacements in near future and this future is looking not so bright. I hope that more people will train Singapore players, including present U-21 players, to many of them going to teams, where they are not trained any longer or trained bad.
One more thing I need to say is lack of NT players pace. Only 10 of them is divine/superdivine in pace. Some other players have other skills very high, but they play below expectations due to lack of pace. Pace is the key at international level, where almost every opponent player runs at maximum. Train pace then people, it will be useful to your club team as well:)

Yeap, I agree. Pace is important especially with tactics.
I came back to sokker again since a year ago and have a relatively young team, training in pace. Initially my team only consisted of overseas player.
I only started having enough money to increase my U21 slots and will probably upgrade my youth coach soon as well. I'm thinking of training more SG players since I will still be training pace for a few more seasons.
Pace have to be trained when the players are young, and what better way to do so with a new group of U21 youths!

I'm glad to hear that:)
Every player need pace. Training sholud be balanced between position skills and pace. Divine striker with divine tech but with brilliant pace only is worst in match than unearthly striker with magical tech but with superdivine pace.
It's really worth to train pace - all the club players will be better, selling prices will be higher and National Team will be stronger:)

xyart = pace :)
In all period that i was Singa coach, xyart had train pace :))

Ouch! Our first defeat this season with Cymru, despite good team stats (74,3). Tactic is the reason I think. Maybe it's time to change existing one:)
All the players played well today. This lineup is close to be first. I need to try 2-3 players more. After that I'm going to start working with suitable tactics.

Easy home win with Kenya. Another stats record (75,3), but we can't be overconfidenced, an opponent was weak today.
New tactic seems to be working, but I must wait for stronger opponent to test it completely and make some adjustments if nescessary.
One important thing I can say after those few matches is very, very short bench of good classic central midfielders. We got sufficient number of keepers, defenders, wingers and strikers, but only two suitable players for central midfielder position.
A.I. Vairavan is the best player on this position, the rest of players is short in passing or/and in playmaking. I'm afraid about injuries, or red cards, or poor form on A.I. Vairavan, it will be very hard to replace him.
