whats the story with the manda chuvas update? it would be a lot easier set that up and mail all people with players of interest with a link to the database which updates..

and seperate links for people with greasemonkey and those other scripts installed

When it first launched I didn't like the site and it didn't offer us anything that we didn't already have. In addition to that it would have been a pain changing over and I'm still not convinced on having our database on another nations website.
What's changed is we now have two national teams and his database does offer some new stuff. I'm also aware that no-one seems to like my Excel database so it wouldn't make sense to keep it once i'm finished with the national team :)

As for scripts and links, the link is on the national page and both Firesokker and Greasemonkey send players to our database.

.. yeah well a database is a lot easier work with.. thing is id like it run by an irish person also :)
thing is for now i think its best to go with it.. also might be worth copying it down to excel every time its updated.. im sure theres a method of exporting the data..
the thing about it is it makes updating for people a lot easier ;)

Well we have a online database, Welchy has access to it and it is run by an Irish person. Excel just makes it easier to move things around and works as a backup. Manda Chuva's site is basically the same thing with just a couple more extra tools.

didnt know we had an online one :)
whos running it? someone outside the game or in a different sokker nation?
2009-03-23 02:17:05
That explains a lot.
I'm running it. I have been for well over 2 years.

ah.. whats with the "it and it is run by an Irish person." lol

how are players updated on it? is there a submission method? through firesokker or something?
2009-03-23 02:25:12
Firesokker, the Greasemonkey script or directly through the website. If you try and use Manda Chuva site you get directed to ours. That's why I turned down joining his site when it was setup. We didnt need it. Now we've got 2 national managers and an assistant, the better site is required. In the past when it was just me I was fine doing the stuff on my own but obviously when stuff has to be shared around it becomes more difficult.

thats what i was thinking... has mandu's site got a method of showing only U21 players to the U21 manager?
ur site seems ok really as a result...
can u get gmail by any chance?

Our Site

I never fully finished the new design code which is why if you submit a player the design goes back to grey. I was about halfway through updating the pages when my harddrive crashed and it took me 6 months to get access to the hosting site and files again.

I'd have to take a look at his site again. I know there are filters available but I've never had any players to test it out with.
I had a GMail account, load of rubbish.

whatever u think mate.. thers a sharing option for excel files online.. thast what i was updating for welchy... not done atin since start of season though.. maybe he has.. basically all players i had to update were done though..
2009-03-23 20:29:56
Sent the database to Nin. Thikn it might be around 2 weeks behind though.
2009-03-23 21:11:46
Not a problem. I've got it
