We were talking about this a few weeks ago and now they've changed the wording slightly on the coach requirements for main and general training.

The quality of both individual and general training responsibility lies mostly with the main coach. The feature that counts most is his individual skills; his general appraisal does not influence the effectiveness of training. Select a head coach who has a high ability in training the skill you have chosen for the individual training. Decide yourself how important for you, are the other coach abilities and if you can afford to pay more for a better coach.

It does mean that for general training it doesn't matter if you have, for example, a high brilliant or a low magical coach, in those cases their individual skills should be about the same and you'll get the same level of general training.

I'm not quite as chuffed now about getting an unearthly coach a couple of days ago :)

that was what i originally thought from months back, confusingly worded still though

To me it still means the better your main coach the better your general training. The ideal main coach for training outfielders would be as small as you could get in keeper and unearthly in everything else rather than an unearthly general appraisal coach.

you right... first of all is to get great first coach, with unerthly skills in everything except gk, and after that is sensce to get good asisstants.

i train atts, so he is great for me:)

ok you've convinced me - time to ditch my adequate coach! (although I had been planning it for a while)
2008-01-24 13:45:09
it works like that:

good first coach (skills 17), and week asistants:

17(20) of stamina, solid of keeper
17(20) of pace, 17(20) of defender
17(20) technique, 17(20) of playmaker
17(20) of passing, 17(20) of striker

assistants only improve skills of first coach... it looks like that (skill of first coach * xx% generated by assistants). if they are week, they just improve his skills to 20 - of corse its an example.

second option: week coach and good assistants...

4(6-bonus 50%, so very high!) of stamina, solid of keeper
4(6) of pace, 4(6) of defender
4(6) technique, 4(6) of playmaker
4(6) of passing, 17(25) of striker

of course, nobody know how looks the %, but i dont think that with the max assistants we can get bonus higher than 50-60%.

I reckon general training gives me about one half to one level per skill a season, obviously less as levels and age go up.
2008-01-25 17:20:34
in poland we made some stats about it...

one traning = about 8-9 general trenings, if we have good first coach and assistants at minuimum 13

I wasn't far off so ;) Most of my judgments were of high talent young players which probably explains why I thought it was higher.
