Subject: [NT] Ganzengeile

2008-02-03 00:53:15
Hi

The election seem to be started here, so I'll open my thread too.

I'm Ganzengeile from Switzerland and I've joined Sokker in June 2005.
From the beginning I was fascinated by the tactical possibilities you have here, and soon Sokker became number 1 among the online games for me.

I don't want to talk much about my career as club manager, I promoted on the direct way to Super League and I'm still playing there, from time to time winning the championship (like this season).
But I don't really think that success as a club manager implies success as a NT coach, that's why I don't want to talk more about my club team.
(If you want to know more, here are my chronicle)

I was Swiss NT coach for three seasons and it was so much fun that I decided to run for a NT election again!

I took over the Swiss team after it failed in the WC qualifications, so I had one season to get accustomed to the NT life. In this season I also qualified for the u21 WC.

The second season was the WC qualification, we managed it with 27 points out of 10 matches, beating Nederland as the highlight.

Finally the WC was a little bit a dissapointment (even though we were the weakest team of our group), we couldn't go through the group stage, but at least we beat Spain (later finalist) in a perfect match.
In the same season Switzerland got to the quarter finals of the u21 WC ...

In the end I took Switzerland over somewhere among position 40, and when I retired we were 22nd.

I can't tell you much about my preffered tactics, I have to admit that I only have watched a few NT matches when Nin was in charge of the NT, so at the moment I don't now where the strengths and weaknesses are in the Irish team ... :-(
But anyway, you have to find out where the weakness of your opponent is and thus your tactic has to rely on your opponent's tactic.
But what I can say is that my motto is: "defense first"! ;-)

Next season I would join the u21 WC qualification, and in between I would try to find the formation for the WC qualification in two seasons.

I definitely can assure you that I will try everything to achieve good results and that this candidature is meant seriously!

Well, I saw that some very good managers already wrote their election speech, I wish them on this way good luck! And may the best win! ;-)

You're quite humble arent you?
Ok if you wont talk yourself up i'll do it for you, seeing as i think you're the best manager in this game.
When you took over Switzerland you were placed quite near us. We were 47th. I think we both left after 3 seasons, you were 22nd, we were 29th. In that time you beat Germany, Holland, Spain, Croatia, Colombia (7-0 i might add) and most important, Sweden every time you played them. This is with a squad moderately better than ours.
In addition to that, you're 3 time Swiss national champions and cup semi-finalists with your reserves.
I asked you to take over last season but Uni got in the way. Hopefully this time

Thanks for the compliment!

You're quite humble arent you?
Probably yes ...

Well, even though I was finally responsible for the NT, I don't think the success only belonged to me. It belonged to the whole community in Switzerland, they contributed a lot!

And that's a point I'd like to add to my speech.
In my eyes being a NT coach doesn't only mean to create tactics, it has also much to do with communication!
Especially it's important not to lose contact to the managers who have NT players and future NT players. Talking with them to find the right training plan which pleases both is important.

I'm going to candidate together with cambrant!

We talked to each other and as a result we thought, working together is much better and could result in much better performance than if both were candidating by itself.

I know cambrant for a few seasons now, I know he's an experienced and active manager, I know he understands how the game works and I know he's dependable.
We think that if we both are scouting the opponent, 4 eyes are seeing more than just 2, and we therefore have a better chance to identify the opponent's weaknesses!

cambrant would be my assistant, his primarily job would be helping to scout the opponent and entertaining the forum with weakly threads before the matches and with competitions around the NT team.

You have my vote

Cam, what do you have planned for entertainment then?
2008-02-05 18:47:20
I will tell english jokes on weekly basis :D

entertaining the forum with weakly threads before the matches and with competitions around the NT team.

The entertainment isn´t maybe the correct word, it´s more that we will have threads before each NT match with information regarding the opponent such as ranking, No of users, strongers players etc etc...

The "entertaining" part, i´ll hope, will be some competitions as we had in sweden around the NT match, this is a way to raise the interest around each game (if possible). It worked out well in Sweden and i am hoping for the same here.

You didn't understood me:) i dont think that you candidature is worse that my own, that will be evaluated by irish, i just wanted to know why Nin is supporting You so hard.

Now all is clear for me. I should say "good luck" i think, but sorry, not this time;)
2008-02-06 09:29:34
No no, I understood you right! ;-)
I know you didn't judge my candidature! ;-)
2008-02-06 22:18:47
good luck :) and thanks for opinion from other forum (you know which forum;p)
2008-02-07 10:07:57
Thanks! ;-)

If I get elected, I'd like to join the Mini World Cup!

Last time (2 seasons ago) Ireland was beaten by Sweden in the quarterfinals.

The Mini World Cup is for teams which didn't qualify for the WC, that means that tha participants are relatively equal in their performance.

Robbed we were, robbed! By your assistant.
