i offered you my help with the mentoring system, maybe you should think about it one again;)
2008-02-19 19:55:44
I abandoned that in favour of the guide post in the lower divisions. It's too much work to monitor who's in charge of who and most people couldnt be bothered.
2008-02-19 19:58:06
what about find few managers to work with, and any of us will take 3-4 divisions to monitor... it would be much easier.

It sounds like a good idea but personally i'm non-committal for now. I'm not well at the moment and i'm looking at scaling back my involvement with the national team and forums.

Firstable, just as an information, in most other forums I'm known as "GeG" or "geg", and not as "Ganz"! ;-)

Well, you're all right, the U21 at the moment isn't competitive!
But my thoughts were, that if we take part of the U21 WC, some other managers have their Irish players in the NT team, and some others see, that their players are not too far from the U21 team. I therefore hope that their involvement and their interest in the Irish NT will raise and that we can expect a positive effect for the future.

we should win so many games as possible, to get good place in ranking:)
You're right Raul. But on the other hand, last time it happened that Ireland was placed "too high", in the same pot as all new countries ...
I don't know if and how many new countries will join Sokker next season, that's why I don't look at the ranking at the moment ...

The mentoring system: I'd like that the admin who activates new user writes a short message in the forum, which manager is new. Then we (the active user) could create a short welcome mail, in which we tell him/her where he/she can find help ...

Well, these aren't good news, but Sokker is just an online game, and far away from being important in someones life! I therefore would understand your decision to step back and I wish you good luck, and get well soon!
But I hope you'll still be active here in this forum!!

@Raul, madrista: I wouldn't have had any problems if you candidated again, but resigning from the election is a great gesture! Thank you!

right, and thats why we should play3-5 games with youth... but its better to find rivals for friendlies, on similar level i think. in WC-u21 we will be one of the weakest teams...

look on DB.. we have no players to join WcU21":)

Yep, you're right! ;-)
If we had to go through the U21 qualifications, then we would have opponents of the same strength, probably we're even a little better.

If we go directly to the U21 WC group stage, we could play for example against Poland or Italy ... not really an opponent in our reach ...
But I know approximately the skills of the Swiss and some Austrian U21 players, and they're not that far away from the Irish players ...
Well, they still have the better - and especially more - players, but not that much better that I'd say it's senseless to play against them ...

But of course, if nobody here in the community wants to play, then I won't join the U21 WC if I get elected! ;-)

Thanks mate! :-)
Are you activating the Irish users? I thought you don't have the English speaking countries ... ;-)
2008-02-20 00:40:42
no i dont but i can ask for ireland and i am sure ill get it, if you want :)
2008-02-20 00:42:56
If the other users here like the idea or even have a better one, then we can seriously think about this!
I'll let you know, and many thanks anyway!!! ;-)

Here is also gregs post on the best way to place ads in the best forum:

finding forums:

example: for nederland

voetbal phpBB site:.nl
voetbal forum site:.nl

generally, best search is:

football_in_your_language phpBB site:.country_code
football_in_your_language forum site:.country_code

where country_code is domain for your country (.pl, .co.uk, .be, etc - [url=http://www.checkdomain.com/list.html]here

However, i need to go to bed now.

good night. Geg, you can always contact me concerning the ireland applications.

i was candidating only for a mess, i didn't really wanted to win them:)

We run a sokker.cz website with sokker related stuff and othe content in Czech. The stats part is used by other countries as well. I can talk to the creator to add Ireland.

The reason is: You can see the youngest teams in the game. Therefore you can go there, check the youngest teams and see who is new and go to them directly without spending extra time searching.

let me know if you are interested...

Hmm ... that's pretty much the same as it would be if AA could post the accepted user in here, right?
And then we don't have to use an external page, everything would be in this forum as soon as the new manager is accepted.

Or did I understand you wrong?
2008-02-20 17:39:05
yes same thing.
