Deep wingers seem to work really well yeah. As long as I know an opponent isn't going to cover both wings I'd pretty much always play with deep wingers.

i agree, but you need the right type of skillset for a deep winger, if you dont have it, its better to play other tactics.

edit:
what i mean, it may be an issue with irish NT, there are two or three players for this position, but if they have low form...what to do?

@shanteam: the way to score goals best versus a straight 4 at the back is with a winger (or two) in line with the strikers to cross into the box.
You're right, I prefer such a tactic aswell, the problem is that our players either don't have enough passing or not enough technique in my eyes.
But I'll try it again next week though! ;-)

@shanteam: Also leaving 5 players 'up' is a bit much I think.
This was because we were playing against a weaker opponent. I wanted to put them under pressure and tried to only use 5 players for defensive tasks.

@Nin: 5 defensive players covering the centre when the weakness with any 3 man defence is the width.
Costa Rica didn't use any wingers, that's why I put all the defense players in the centre ...

Oh yes, and the efficiency of the striker seems to be a problem in many teams.
Poland has the best strikers and they only scored two goals from 29 shots (+2 penalty goals). ;-)

right:) our strikers in that game were 3x divine!:>

They're not in divine form, maybe that's the reason! ;-)

yep, unearthly is definitly to low!:)

I wouldn't worry too much about striker efficiency in these games- the good thing is that we're making chances. Against better teams the efficiency will get better.

Also- against better teams I think your personal style of tactics will have a lot more 'efficiency' as well ;)

I think strikers can just be like that sometimes.
