I'm posting this in every English language forum, seeing as i'm running it.
Registration is now open for the Sokker International Cup. A 512 team straight knockout tournament. This is and will likely be the biggest international cup ever run in Sokker and we are looking for teams to take part in it.
1st Round games start 27th of July 2008 (Week 7) of next season but there will likely be places available until Week 8 starts for clubs still in their national cup. Depending on how many applicants, there is an unofficial limit of 50 clubs per nation.

I've looked at all the other teams entered so far and i'd expect you to get through the first round as long as you dont get a bad draw.

The whole tournament is roughly seeded. I've split the teams into 3 class groups.
In all honesty yes, you'd likely get killed. It'll be a struggle for me to get past round 2 i suspect.

Hmm we'll see. Always easier to get the first 256 than the last.
If we go over the 512 limit there will be a 2nd smaller competition for the weaker teams. I doubt i'll get the full 512 though due to teams dropping out/being banned/being involved with the cup etc

yeah thats a good point... list is filling fast though. id apply but i dont know what im gonna be at over the summer yet. finish college so i have an undefined future :)
Unless we go way over the 512 clubs i wont be imposing a limit or closing the registration early. I'd like as many teams registered as i can to make sure i've the full 512 to start with. Any teams that arent in that 512 will be put into a smaller team tournament.
there will be a lot of teams dropping out to number of reasons, so you want to keep a long list of teams who will take up those spots.
wow, 512 already and the rate teams are signing up seems to be steady...you may as well reach 1024 by week 6 next season...
Thats not going to happen. I'll allow it to get to 576 and then i'll close it to all teams rating below 40. There will be a small tournament for the weaker teams.
