Subject: New Animations in match engine

The Sokker development team is delighted to announce that the match engine has now been further improved. 16 new animations, including diving motions from the goalkeepers and goal celebrations, were added.

New flash files increase the viewer's size from 178 KB to 1.5 MB and two new sounds (~160 KB) were added, too. This will increase the download time a little when you use the new match viewer for the first time, because the new parts have to be cached by the browsers. For every further match the download should take place as fast as before as the data needed for each match remains unchanged.

The new match viewer is to be tested on the friendly NT matches on the 26th July. The changes are permanent and all subsequent matches will be generated by this new match engine. We do not expect important bugs as changes to the match engine itself are minimal. Please note that the gameplay was not changed, and that the behaviour of the players will stay the same (i.e. defenders will defend exactly like before, players will shoot or pass like before, keepers will save exactly like before).

In the unlikely event that you find any bugs, please report them as usual via the Bugs/Idea's forum.

As far as I know it's improved, but even we (officials) didn't see another version than this one.

I watched a full game of Team A vs Team B last week with the new animations. I also watched the 30fps version.

What's the deal with the annoying little semi-clear tabs popping up on the bottom right corner?

I think i know what Rog is talking about. I've noticed them in the last week. It's like a little clear box popping up with you first open a page.

its funny caus everytime someone is tackled they do the same tumble :P

The new NT games load up and get stuck at 77%... anyone got the problem?
Is that due to the new animation? Any ideas?

Nope, everything is fine

Funny that. Someone else reported the same problem so I tried another computer.
On one the upload gets stuck on 77%, just like that other person reported. On the other computer is uploads just fine. Maybe something to do with settings... Cheers anyway.

cache size is by default set too small?

maybe its a server error either try reporting it or seeing if its been reported
