just looked at my friendly there caus i had a few goals...new update seems pretty sweet to me. theres a lot more accurate passing and better choice of passing in my opinion...decisions by players seem a lot better too...

also, tech still seems as important. a lot of people said pace would be more important and tech would be less so, but i didnt see much slowing of attackers by failed challenges...

what u guys think? especially those who watch NT matches?

it allows a lot to be done out the wings and tactics seem even more important IMO...

The new match engine isn't running in friendlies yet. The first friendly match with the new match engine will be in 2 weeks.

In NT matches, however, they're testing.
It looks good to me, I like that the players now try to pass more often. However, the matches I have seen weren't that interesting since there weren't many chances and almost no goals. In my eyes it still needs a lot of testing, but luckily there are a few weeks left ;-)

Yeah i was going to say they're not using it with clubs yet. Ir was abandoned for today's international games as well.

Yep, at least some of the new effects. Don't know if greg was testing something else instead, he didn't say anything ...

thought it was in friendlies...my match looked lots smoother than usual..

If it goes according to plan this is the intro days for the clubs.

Friendlies: 31st of December.
Official matches: next season, first round of cup... which should be 14th of January.

No one knows yet what will be implemented, testing is ongoing in the Nt team matches.

guess thats the best place for it considering the effort that goes into tactics... still cant see why u couldnt get a few people to make tactics and test it...am sure lots of people would sign up caus it would give them advanced info on the system etc... i mean the matches take 20 mins to ook at so a few ppl could easy give up an hour on weekends or something to make tactics and test em etc...

Hmm ... not really I'm afraid ...

As far as I read in the mod- and linguist-forum, these changes will be removed for today:
- combination play
- body blocking
- clearing ball by defenders

Since these are the most obvious changes, I'm afraid that the "new" ME looks pretty much as the old one.
However, I hope the devs are gonna try all changes next week.
The problem is that with the new match engine tactics like the one from Turkey (7 high-placed defs) are even more effective. greg doesn't wanna have these unrealistic tactics and tries to find ways to improve the ME and to make such tactics more or less useless ...

yeah makes sense... 7 defenders who are high and can block off attackers... no way through :)

better through balls might be a solution... or as was once suggested OTT through balls (Over The Top as in ball is played above the defenders for striker to run onto)
