So i figure a thread should be opened here for general dicussion about the U-21 so as to keep stuff about them seperate from the other thread..hopefully there wont be any mixups etc...

general starter questions are whos gonna manage them etc... i suggest welchy since hes getting brought into the system... although NIN wanted him for the main squad maybe???

also... thread needs to be set up in ireland association... i suggest NIN u get some ideas together on a potential squad now...

it also means that theres goning to be a lot of submissions to the NT database from now on... because im guessing there wont be much difference between the levels of players and non players... 40 mitent even be enough places...

is there any players who will be in th emain NT squad next season and U21 also? how does that work does anyone know?

I heard that devs want to introduce International Cups as well:)

Guess this information went through one of the many leaks among the officials at the moment ... :-(
The only thing that is sure is that greg likes the idea, but not more. And as we have seen in the past such big changes take a longtime until they are introduced. As far as I know - and I'm pretty sure about that - the devs haven't start working on International Cups, so I wouldn't really think about it in the next few months ;-)

Welchy would be a good candidate. The idea behind having him take over a few games this season was just to make sure we have Irish candidates in the future. The last Irish manager who wasnt me or Shane was Executor around 8 seasons ago.
I was looking at the database last night, we can just about put out a reasonable team but hopefully our youths will improve now they're more desirable.
You cant have players in both squads. I had planned on moving Clayton Kinsella and a couple more up to the main squad but they can wait.

its also good because it encourages training of U21s etc to keep them in the squad from what i can see...

@gan... i cant spell ur name ever sorry :P

its on every intl page at the moment, so its surely gonna get introduced at the start of next season???

i mean all the scripting and all that should be there in the form of the national team setup... they just have to introduce a factor which makes it only 21 year old players and younger and at the end of the season, all who turn 22 get booted... or else just wipe the entire team if thats easier implement...

i dont know much about programming but is it not basically a ctrl + c, ctrl + v job??? (copy and paste all)

Yes, the U21 Teams are gonna be introduced, that's right.
I was referring to madristas post, in which he wrote about International Cups. The International Cups won't be introduced in the near future, that was what I wanted to write! ;-)

Sorry about the misunderstanding! :-)

yeah in was wondering what u were on about :P

maybe i shud read all the thread more thoroughly next time :P

hurray for U21's :)

To make you feel better, I knew what you meant :)

theres massive discussions about these cups and potential for them etc... i still cant see them happening any time in the future though...
i guess it would however mean a lot more attendance gate reciepts for participants... only thing is, i figure it would have to be like champions league or something (league first with 4 teams) to ensure people get enough matches... i cant see a team who would have a few good attendance matches adomestically wanting to enter something where they might get knocked out in the first round!

anyways thats neither here nor there i guess!

U21 ftw! good to see the announcement was made at last too on the main page!

it was probably highest on the priority list IMO...

next up... post counters! and those other things i wanted in the past... iv wanted a quote button at times but i guess it might get messy alright...

im also just realising that thers probably a few youths in new teams which are created which could potentially make the U21 squad... i dont know how good the actual squad is going to be which is why im guessing its a possibility...
