Here's a possible reason. As you drag the ball in that square backwards towards the corner do your players retreat back into the penalty box?
One of the things I've noticed is they tend to drop back relative to not only the square they're in but also where the ball's likely to go, so they'll be creeping back towards the goal box when the throw is taken to be ready for the next square down.

That's something i considered but looking at my own formations, my players dont do it.
yeah i was just thinking that you cant be offside from a throw, but as Geg mentioned to you when you asked if you could be offside, strikers run back onside before the ball comes into play so it wouldnt matter...
i like the positioning :)

could be tactical discipline too, although sometimes they'll drop back to force the strikers onside, it's a little weird.
All hail Dealhunty, we probably would have lost without him. Good result, not sure if it was deserved. The defence needs to be a bit more mobile from side to side.

I'm finally contributing to the International Scene !! :D

on an U21 level :P
but yeah thats the benefits of U21also.. it can get smaller clubs interested in it,since they might have players involved.. that lead on to the NT

And we'd be a bit lost without him.
We have the Netherlands this week. Big test

I'd question how good they are. They've had a string of poor results and haven't won since they played a useless French team 6 weeks ago.
Lost 2-1, thought we deserved at least a draw really. I liked the formation, the defence looked a lot more solid. The attacking mid should probably been a bit further back, by them pushing up he was too near the striker.
Bit gutted by that :( We held out for so long, and there were 2 passes leading up to their goal that looked well off-side. The wing backs probably could have done with being a bit wider, and the mids a bit deeper. Thats our first loss.
I'm only able to watch the first 35 minutes but this formation feels like a step backwards. Defence isn't pushing up or covering the width enough. The two central mids don't see to know what they're doing either.
