Subject: U21 National Team

I'll run again this year. I know i screwed up the elimination a big time but there's u21 mini world cup this year i think and i'll do my best to go as far as possible in there.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger ;) I don't think you did as bad a job as you think you did- A lot of our players aren't balanced yet at that level so it can be quite difficult to get the team to perform. If you feel you can keep improving then go for it :)

Just as a reminder, can anyone who submits players to the database make sure they're using the correct and up-to-date plugin. There are quite a few players who are being submitted with no skills because people are using old programmes like Firesokker or old versions of OSokker which no longer work properly.

outstanding pace/magical defender by the time he hits 20 i reckon if talent is right, which makes him a proper NT prospect

NTDB seems to have most players updated at this stage anyway..so not a bad job.. im running update on the dreatteam site there now for value update... but at most levels we seem to have info on most players so its grand :)
below 20, values are all over the place due to stamina, and one attribute being trained stupidly high so i dont see a reason seeking info on them, unless its the likes of holt version 2 or someone, and they will have high values in the U21 list anyway

considering shields (whos outstanding defender last i saw) played last game, im assuming we need a massive U21 update.. hes 13th best U21 defender at the minute like..should have been done 2 weeks ago.. and you should have asked for help if you didnt have time IMO.. i would have had no trouble doing it, or nin im sure as he has access to who needs to be updated so would know more than me but its not his job.

seems we are poor enough this season at the start. especially in strikers, and losing holt will be a blow for sure.

If the next manager employs scouts then it's easy enough to allow people to view the database. Once I've got my laptop back I'm going to look through and see which of the outdated players could still be useful.

I think in future I might control the database numbers by only allowing former members of the U-21 squad to remain after the age of 21. Seems like common sense that if they can't get into the U-21 squad then they'll never been of any use to us.

I can do it manually.
I'm going through the database at the moment. I've managed to delete about 80 of the 380 who were either crap or deleted. I'd like to get it down to at least 250. Anyone under 22 is safe

they will probably be updated again at some stage.. or your permanently removing them?

If they're updated again then no harm done. I'm permanently deleting those who clearly aren't good enough based on their last update and their current value. Trust me, no-one decent is being deleted, we've got a lot of rubbish.

i've tried to use "The Ultimate Scouting Tool" by rtg, but i couldnt update the players.
maybe it will help to find the best irish players.

National team really does need some updating. Take a look at Neil Deveraux, he isn't even in the squad.

Finally finished. Cut the database down from 380 to around 260, we need a lot of updates but we're not short of valuable players coming up.
