There aren't a lot of managers who train for the U21. The purpose always has to be the NT team or the club. I personally find it very annoying if an U21 manager keeps asking to change the trainingplan. That couple of weeks difference in training won't make the difference on the field too...

Do not try twisting words, I said clearly, if perhaps one that trains players for the NT, and is asked to train other than he usually trains, can help, because it helps him playing regular player of the NT, and also 50% antrenamet in addition, every week. You make good results at NT only if the users cooperate with that country`s manager.

It was our midfield that needed a little pm. Not always to ask a manager to change the training;)

i was quite disapointed by your sistem today...it wasn`t needed to use 5 defenders against a weaker team...nz wing wasn`t that good

midfielders were too low i think and it was too far away from strikers
a wing might have been a good solution today

with a weaker team, have to play more attacking. In these matches should be tested more tactics. Have not done any change to the last match. In this style you can not qualify in the first 32 Ireland U21.

In my opinion, this match is a total failure, and all the blame was yours ... big difference between Ireland U21 and New Zealand U21 today. Mark 48 Irish, 44 New Zealand ... and a big surprise possession belonged to New Zealand, this is wrong tactics.

I have not seen clear scoring opportunity ...!!

It's allready very clear that you will take every opportunity to blame the coach for everything that goes "wrong". Please stop that election-thinking and give some positive advice, stop comparing ratings and make conclusions out of the ratings. if I put my defence higher irelands rating will be two points less with exactly the same team, so it doesn't say that much. At the end of the season Irish managers will decide if I did ok or not and to be honest at the moment I don't really care, I just work with the team and the tactics and try to get the maximum. At the end of the season ireland will decide if it's enough.

About the match : defence was good in my opinion. Even with 5 defenders we had some difficulties with the high technique winger. With 4 defs i think the defender would be always too late.
In the u20 the defence is our most solid part. We only had three possible mids and three possible att to play so the choices weren't that big. I made the tactic that was the best with the available players imo and it was appr the same as last week. Things that went go wrong were the attacking throw ins in my opinion. The balls went too the striker were i wanted them to go the midfielder. There also wasn't enough movement from the attackers to create some good passes from the midfield. Our att were strong enough to pass one defender but with their 5 man defence there was always a second one.

About the top 32. Let's wait untill the end of the season please. We were at place 33 as I began and we still are so no panic ;), there are still a lot of matches to come.

New zealand wing was maybe not that strong too, but I decided to cover him. If you see he sometimes dribbled outstanding-incredible defs frome the front he wasn't that bad at this level. You can say he is not strong if you look at his rating but this has everything to do with his total lack of defending.

our U20s arent too bad in consideration of this

@youngboys our rating is high because those defenders have secondaries which are v high for U21
age 20
value: 385 000 €
wage: 3 575 €
formidable form
bookings:
excellent stamina tragic keeper
formidable pace incredible defender
adequate technique solid playmaker
good passing good striker

im actually turning this guy into a defensive mid longterm i think like. tech in 2-3 weeks, then probably passing next season sometime

It's allready very clear that you will take every opportunity to blame the coach for everything that goes "wrong".....

for that the coach is always responsible for poor results. In this case, you!;

on the advice, I and other managers i told you to try other tactics, with four defenders, with wing, more offensive, especially since you played a weaker team. You did not do than play the same tactics, where you saw the match with Austria that does not work;

In this match, have not managed to keep possession, to create your clear goal opportunities, and had the match with Austria where they have to do your homework;

"With 4 defs i think the defender would be always too late.......In the u20 the defence is our most solid part"

you contradict yourself. If we have a solid defense means you can play 4 defenders, and more offensive.

Oooh, I didn't know that. I'll keep it in mind.

Indeed they are not bad. The team next season will be decent. The only problem will be probably that we don't have a lot of players, but that will always be the problem with smaller nations. It limits your choices and tactical possibilities...
2011-09-03 15:57:47
we need defensive midfielders. that gives you the freedom and safety in the middle, and also a lightness to prepare offensive. (This player has played every at U21, to grow faster because early in the season, go in qualifying.)

I saw the game, it's not just about rank. I have not seen a clear scoring opportunity, and New Zealand was weaker than Ireland U21, but they knew to have possession. I know that tactic is made by players not vice versa.
