Subject: NTDB suggestions

For those of you who use the NTDB to update your players what would you like to see added/changed?

I can now code the databse so if the idea is decent enough it may get coded.

I have already re worded the player doesnt fit requirements to be more encouraging to people training a player.

We don't use the NTDB at the moment though i'm planning on switching to it this week, as soon as my internet problems are sorted. I won't expect any comments as i'm the only one with access to it at the moment.

Minor suggestion. When i sign in i want to be able to see all the players. At the moment i'm having to select "All Squads", "Show Youngsters" and "Show Archives" to see the list of everyone. It's starting to p**s me off.

Ignore this, it's not a problem once everyone is in a squad.


A suggested requirements would be useful as well.

ah Nin within the preferences you can select the squads you can see - you can also manage squads and add your name to both. Its coded like that so you can make sure u21 coachs can only see u21 players - some people dont like others seeing their players (i know i know)

Damn, I thought I'd get here and edit my post before you read it ;) The suggested requirements would be useful though, at the moment ours are so low that everyone gets in. I tried it the other way but it cut so many players out and they weren't in the right positions anyway.

what positions are the issue mate - if its for the u21s then try setting the same as scotlands requirements and change the age coefficient to 20%. This is what i use and it grabs most if not all of the decent 16/17yr olds. i.e.

That might be something for the next U-21 coach to try. The problem I was having was high skilled players with significant weaknesses weren't getting through the system and we can't really afford to turn anyone away. I also tend to use the same skills for defence and centre midfield and for some reason, all our mids were being assigned to defence. At the moment I've just got 7 individual groups, based on individual skills.

i think just set reasonably high standards for the defenders in main 2 skills.. then low secondaries.. then mids low enough in the others.. that should pick up the defenders with reasonable secondaries and lower main skills..
didnt know it refused players if they didnt fit requirements..

Use them as secondary rather than primary and include a higher tolerance %. So you have a striker with brilliant striking, divine pace but only vg tech for example that you want in the db, just set primary as striking > x, and secondary as striking+pace+tech > y and include a higher tolerance. Had the same problem, a few players didn't make the cut so I had to modify tolerance and switch things off primary to secondary.

can you at least name the current requirements Nin? when im submitting players, its saying he fulfils the requirements of pace, defender, _Add New

looks amusing is all :P

EDIT: also, does it always reqet password at the start of the season>? thats a bit dodgy... :/

There shouldn't be _Add New, maybe you added that yourself because I cant find it.

No password resets. What do you mean?

i had changed my password.. it got reset to default at start of season - possibly as i got promoted to U21 manager?

as for add new.. i didnt add any... confused as to why its there..didnt know i could put in those things.. ill leave all those details to you like!

It didn't get reset automatically, when I promoted you I had to enter your account and password I think.

ah right maybe.. i was confused at first when my pass didnt work..copped it in few secs that it had changed back to that is all...
no worries anyways mate..just pointed it out as i thought it might have been done by default

Minor bug. We've got 5 groups to assign players to, National Team, 22+, U-21 Squad, U-21's and U-20 Squad. I'm not able to select U-20 squad though as it doesn't appear in the dropdown list. Instead, for some reason I've got duplicates of U-21 and 22+, taking up space. I'm fairly sure this could be fixed with a scroll feature.

Nevermind, I've worked it out.
