It's about the best I could have hoped for really- I'll have to get really lucky to win but it's winnable :) What's far more likely is that his 8 defensive players will mop up all my attacks and he'll be able to pick me off pretty easily on the break.

I've had a look at his game last night and tbh if I had Sanabria fit I'd be pretty confident of getting a result.

Unlucky :( they shut down your forwards very well

Bugger :) - The first time he's ever done that. Ironically the only defending that wide full back did was to miscontrol the ball into the strikers path for the second goal. Not to worry- I wasn't expecting to do well with my squad this season. I should be able to put in a better challenge in a few seasons time when my midfield should be pretty strong.

How far do you think you can get? I think of luck goes your way you have an outside chance. I still don't have a team in place to go very far- I'll need a few more seasons training for people like Holt and Goodwin.

Well, as you wrote luck will play an important role. There are so many teams of similar strenght, with good tactics and a bit of luck everything is possible! ;-)
My individual rating will be around 75, guess that's enough to be among the top teams. I hope I'll survive the first two rounds because I wanna sell some of my 26 players in the beginning of the new season which would give me some money for transfers.
If luck is on my side I even might have the chance to win this cup ;-)

I think you have a big advantage with your NT experience as well. I thought a lot of teams last year had very stagnant tactics as they had formations that worked for their particular league and hadn't the experience to change for new tactics.

Hmm ... I haven't done any new tactics for some time, my team was just far too good (too old) for the Swiss league and therefore I didn't have to do much and still won every game.
Will be interesting if I'm able to create some powerful tactics ;-)
At least I hope the CC will increase my motivation again! It wasn't much left in the last couple of weeks ... :-(

A lot of league winners get like that alright ;) The NT know how you have in assessing opponents tactics should give you an edge though.

But well, I also think you might surprise. Your team isn't the strongest one, but everyone who's underestimating you will have a tough time against you ;-)

once u get to creating a few tactics, takes maybe 20 mins to put one together you like i found...
scouting can be a bit annoying all the same..
first few tactics you make after a spell out tend to either be great, or a shambles all the same
