Never heard of that - can't think of what it could be unless you had already promoted him and went back through your cache and tried again...

There's been a report of this in the bugs forum, might be worth you adding your team to it having happened.
This isn't strictly related but...
I had my first formidable youth pull last week:
Clayton Eviston, age 19
value: 92 500 €, wage: 1 275 €
solid form
hopeless stamina,
solid pace,
weak technique,
weak passing,
tragic keeper
adequate defender
weak playmaker
very good striker
---
he did well in the league game for me and I am training pace at teh moment so I'm going to keep him as he's better than all but one of my strikers. When I'm finished training pace is it worth my while selling this guy or should I keep him on?

You were lucky, what a pull :).
Keep vs. sell depends on what do your other players look like.
However, i feel he would be better off with a manager with striking+tech training scheme in a long run.

Nice one fella :) You may as well train him away on pace for the moment- it will only increase his value.
If you're planning on training technique for your defenders at some stage he'd fit into that as well- it's up to whether you want the cash or the player really.

thanks for the advice guys...I want the cash OBV. :)
Will be doing pace for a little while.
Just checked
Clayton popped in pace there.
Do I sell him now or the next time he pops in pace?

If you want the cash go for the cash :).
You will have to wait 4-6 weeks til he pops again, i'd say sell him now. (Put him on the market either friday or monday eve for best results.)
The only advantage i see in selling him later is that i might be able to buy him myself then :)

It depends on his talent really- do you know how often he popped in the junior school? Unless he's going to train quickly he's not really going to be worth it.
If you have a spare training slot I'd train him away for the moment until something better comes along, at that point you might get some cash for him...

unlucky distribution of skills.
I think you would be lucky to get any money for him really. Put him on the market for 0, it's worth a try, and fire him if he doesn't sell.

My fella from a month ago has popped again so I reckon I'm gonna stick him up for sale.

You should get a good price for him- no idea how much tho. I'd try for a valuation on Transfers II (en) (Do a forum search for transfers to find it)
When you do sell him he's worth advertising there as well. ..
