I think he tried to get Northern Ireland unlocked, the country data exists but its an unstarted country.

I may be totally imagining this but I think Greg said this forum was happy as things were and there was no need. Understandable but also farcical as it'll always be an issue and it could/should have been dealt with 5 or 6 years ago when there wouldn't have been such a massive disparity in club levels.

Yes I have been speaking to a mod trying to get Northern ireland as a Country. Ofcourse its an issue. Im from Northern Ireland but can't play out of my own Country.

Either I don't bother playing which im sure most faced with this would choice. Or swallow some pride and pick a neutral Country.

Every other UK Nation is avialble except Norhtern Ireland. I don't think its acceptable to say just play in Ireland. As that is just unfair and not right.

Would you ask a Scotsman to play in England, fat chance. Or a Belgian to pick Holland as his Country?

Anyway, Im trying to get some support for the cause.

But it really is a no brainer in my opinion when you consider there are already far smaller Countries than Northen Ireland already in sokker. But its up to sokker decision makers.

No worries. Don't think it's such a big deal though myself. I don't really reckon the 'would you ask a Belgian to pick Holland' analogy really stands up either because - without wanting to get too political - we do already play together as one country in most sports as far as I'm aware - rugby, cricket, hockey...

I think having a separate Northern Ireland football team is the exception rather than the rule. I don't necessarily see any reason not to have a Northern Ireland sokker league but at the same time I can see why it's not a top priority.

well the main issue with it before was that the userbase in ireland is tiny anyway...
starting northern ireland you will just take 10-15 from the irish userbase and put them in northern ireland so we end up with 2 shit countries instead of a reasonable one.. even though its still fairly shit.
id like a british isles forum..somewhere general for all england, ireland scotland wales, northern ireland to chat or whatever... though it seems lots of users from wales who are active etc just added the england forums anyway

Hi, I'm from Northern Ireland too. I would also like to see a seperate Northern Ireland league. I know that we would end up with 2 lesser leagues, but that is what it is like in the real world anyway. My only concern is that there may be others from Northern Ireland that would prefer to stay in the all Ireland league, and if it was split, they might decide to leave and we could be left with only a handful of teams in N Ireland. But hopefully that wouldn't happen.

My feeling is that most people would stay here with the teams they have established instead of starting new but that the North would fill up to the same level reasonably quickly with all the people who were put off before.

true... it has happened before.. i guess people would have to start from scratch. personally id probably just say my brother wants to start now they have a northern irish league and just play both ^^
of course im no NI anyway so wouldnt affect me
