Week 1: Cymru
First up is France. They have a very strong squad that will be tough to beat. Most of our key players are in pretty good form at the moment. I will use this match to see how our best players perform. I wont do anything radical in this game.
I've spent some time updating the NT database, and i must say that Ireland's squad is pretty good.
Since we're not in the official WC i will let experienced and younger players get a chance to play in the Mini World Cup that starts in little under two weeks. Especially its important to let "up and coming" players with active managers/owners be rewarded for they're efforts. I will write some more when we get a bit closer to kick off.

We did a pretty good match against France today. Even though we lost 4-3 we had as many chances as they did. I think tactic worked as it should do. Anyone seen the match today? Any comments are welcome :)
Groups have been drawn in the Mini World Cup. India got a decent team, but the rest should be fairly easy matches. All in all, i think we should be able to win this group.

We’re playing against South Korea tomorrow, a sokker nation we shouldn’t have too much problems defeating. We’ll play a little more offensive compared to last week against France. I’m trying out a younger squad this week. Its important to let the younger players get some NT experience once in a while :)
There is a new addition to the squad this week. 22 year old Johnny Scully will make his debut on the senior team. He’s already made a name for himself in the U21 squad, but this time its with the “big boys”
The squad playing tomorrow is like this:
Squad
1 Jim McManus GK
2 Shawn Connell DEF
3 Shawn Cully DEF
4 Anthony Healy DEF
5 Jonathan Kurz DEF
6 Nigel Carew MID
7 Johnny Scully MID
8 Frank Hobbock MID
9 Robbie Myrell MID
10 Ken McKeever ATT
11 Liam Moylan ATT
12 Danny Dealhunty GK
13 Bill Goodwin DEF
14 Alex McGoldrick DEF
15 Aaron Holt MID
16 Rick Dull ATT
Free kick: not specified
Penalty kick: Ken McKeever
Conditional orders
Min. Condition / Action
1' red card or no player

Well, there are not many players under 26 at the moment, and we need more i think.
hmm... U21 has had a few poor seasons... but thats always the way man. we have a run of decent players. the upcoming strikers are gonna be insane i reckon. spoilt for choice in 4 seasons again. not that the current guys are ok anyway...
defenders standard has dropped though. we just have 1 top notch guy every 1-2 seasons atm.
mids... dont think theres been many either, though we never had much there anyway.

We're playing against Morocco this weekend. Any requests or ideas for the game? Once again we're playing against a pretty weak team and we should beat them fairly easy. Hopefully this will also bump us up a spot in the ranking list. If no ideas come forward i think we should give more new players a chance to play in the NT.
yeah well i think its a good idea to give those players who are getting training the extra little bit.
no point in >28 year olds like

5-2 win today. But thats was only positive thing about the match today. I totally misjudged what kind of tactic we would meet. They where far more offensive than anticipated, and we should have had one more defender today. 5 goals in 27 chances could also have been better.
Next opponent is India. Thats a far more challenging opponent. They are about the same strength as our team. Perhaps a little weaker. But any other result than a win isn't an option. So i'll put on the best team we have.

On another note, i added a new NT player before the last game. 22yo [Gerry McHugh] is on the road to a permanent spot in senior team. He's currently on the team, but will need to be trained some more before he gets among the first choice as keeper.

I'll use our best squad tomorrow. I wont say much about the tactic we will use, except that it wont be an "extreme" type. We need a win or draw to win the group. I think that should be a realistic outcome.
goodluck.
let us know anyway what the plans are

It'll be a similar tactic to the one used against France. I think we did well in that one and would like to try it again. Allso, i'm guessing India will use a winger, so we'll be putting players to stop that.
