Subject: Quitting

Right all, I've decided I've had enough and it's time to call it a day.

I got a bit fed up with sokker ages ago so decided to try and turn my team into a bit of an Ireland pace training camp. But to be honest, I've become increasingly frustrated with the fact that once I have players who are ready to move on, there is zero interest in taking them. I've been trying to shift people like shawn hannigan for months and he is a great player - but no interest at all.

And then to make matters worse, I totally shafted karloss last week by asking him to sell me someone and then missing the deadline. So I guess that annoyance at myself was the last straw; made me realise I only really get annoyance from this game nowadays.

So the full squad is going to be put up for sale over the next few days - should be some good pickings to be had!!

jaysus man... shit :/

EDIT: oO half ur squad listed already... not really much of interest to me though... you had a few nice mids in that. though im surprised clohessey isnt a higher level... guess he may have had a few drops...
you should have a good bit of cash to mess around with after this im guessing man. mite be worth doing what nin did and just going for mixed training for 2-3 seasons and coming back with a top notch team of youths...

as for lack of interest for players - i always get the same... tis impossible to advertise in this game, most of our trainers here have a squad full of trainees already, so fitting in timing for sales etc just doesnt work..

the three guys you have on adverts are awesome and defo worth someone taking on... 2 very nice defenders there just needing a season of defender to be contenders for the NT in coming seasons

yet another veteran leaving ;-((

... seriously i would recommend keeping the team but starting all over. i did a similar thing with my hattrick team. its now in the lowest league and my bank account is full, so i can get a decent squad of prospects and work my way up again. thats fun again.

but no matter your decision it was great to compete with you !

indeed. and i believe he has coined the phrase "pulling a steve" when not setting a lineup for league game :P

I also would suggest doing what Nin did and just getting 10 awesome trainees together with cash and going for 3-4 seasons training.. if he hadnt got fecked over by match engine he wud have been top of the league no hassle... to show you what i bought off him when he left (what they are now)
he sold 4 mids of this talent...at least with a half decent profit after his 1.5 seasons training (i know keedy is class also - 1.5M value, and derek beaumont was higher skills than satheramoorty below when they played U21 together)
just get a few coaches together (top notch main, 3magical assistants) make a loss of ~100-150k a week average, so keep some cash together for that, get trainees in - 4M each for first 5, 2M for younger ones in second team maybe...
takes time, but in the end you have a quality squad of first team players.. both of these guys will stay in my team longterm probably + at least 2-3 more seasons training, so im expecting another 10 increases

seems like u profit the most as ur next match is against steve, right before the cup finals and i hope steve will keep at least a full squad or buy one, so the league is not screwed by 5:0 walkover games.
2012-07-05 18:10:44
benefit?
bunnies bet him 12-0 and karloss 13-0 so they benefitted... i only get a 5 goal spread...

walkovers are probably the best way to go... though i still think him turning into a training ground is best - but i know he will be shocking at updating players is all
walkovers = no training so... :/

my guess is he will field something.. either that or is planning on selling these guys he has on TA for sunday... or listing today... we wait and see...

benefit ? thats what i meant, they scored high and that will be decisive in that battle for the crown. u benefit cause u can put out ur a-squad unharmed in the cup. i have to consider training or fame.
2012-07-05 19:14:53
or a balance.. you are in a fairly strong position in terms of the league at the moment all the same... but octa will take your main squad to beat for sure.
decisions decisions..
cup pretty much guarantees a position in the cc also like...

I'd been deliberately fielding my reserves in the league this last few weeks in the hopes of being as fair as possible cos I'd been thinking I might end up giving up this season. So hopefully it won't effect things too much if it switches to walkovers? Or will it?

Guess I could buy 11 random players if you like and leave it set like that?

Don't have time/effort/inclination to manage a training team and if I tried to do it I'd only f**k it up :o/

Plan is to list the rest of the squad today and tomorrow

and the one match i forgot to set a lineup in was....

2012-07-07 09:09:14
well theres 2 things to consider i guess... 1 - field a reasonable team of 40+ rating so you stay in first division incase you want to come back.. team will stay non bot so you can reapply even after your acc gets deleted to get your team back.
second is keep on training some players.. just pick 10 guys or whatever for pace.. or even 5 mids/defenders.
come on once every so often and update them.. no need to bother with changing tactics etc.. i guess thats why you did pace... but just doing a few players so no team changes are needed etc wud work.. get a squad of 16 or so, and have the subs on bench also to cover injuries/cards

you surely have a nice bit of cash now.. im guessing 20mill after this.easily ( i counted 7mill on sales that had happened and you had kept most of your main guys)
theres quite a nice few irish youths flying around at the moment or if you give me an indication as to what u want, i can check the database and give u links to interesting players and you can try and organise with managers for a sale price and buy trainees...
its pretty much what nin did i reckon. scouted the NTDB tool, offered slightly over price for trainees and bought them then trained them. easy going and became a top team... then just quit in the end anyways, though he has/had a lot going on in life anyways (not sure whats happened him, tried to get in contact via boards.ie but no reply...dunno does that mean "badness" happened considering why he left) so the game wasnt really for him tbh

you could easily get 5 players needing tech and train them for a season, then do pace next season or whatever.
tbh focusing on one skill only imo is a waste of time. especially pace... its just not recognised highly unless you train from a very very young age and resell then at 18 or so

my point abuot pace training proven by your sale of hannigan there...
best profits are to be made training all other skills higher and selling then as there are so many pace trainers who will buy players who need it for a few seasons when older
2012-07-08 16:18:38
Problem with that is if I end up doing what I did to karloss again - arrange a sale and then miss the deadline. That was totally shocking. So that writes off that option.

That price for Hannigan is just stupid so almost further reinforces my plan to quit! Very annoying (not that it matters now but still...)

I can buy 16 guffters just so it's not walkovers if youse like though? Need to say so asap if so
2012-07-08 18:48:47
all player prices are way down due to drop in users i guess....
craziness lately. training isnt really worth it :/
