The first important friendly of the new season offered us an encounter against Scotland. By value, the opponents were clearly superior, but in sokker like in football, the ball is round and anything can happen.
As the success rate of the 523 tactic was rather high, I started the match with this option as we kind off had a few options into the mid line.
It did not go as planned, Scotland has outflanked us hard, in the 13th minute they were already up 0-3.
Into the second half we balanced the game, we scored a consolation goal with goal boy Wale, but in the end it was a disappointing game, where I had the impression that we could have done more.
Next, we will be starting the World Cup campaign against al-Jazā’ir, a team, which surprised me a lot in their last game, averaging a 78,4% mark.
Therefore, it will be a very interesting match and not that easy to win.
C'mon Ireland!

I will start with just saying that this match has been a big disappointment, a huge upset from the sokker engine.
We started the game in a 52winger2 format, using the best players we had at our disposal even if they were not the best in form players. Actually this is the biggest lack of the team at this moment, missing good form of our players which lead to weak performance on field.
Anyway, we started the match great, Parratt did what he wanted on the winger side and we opened the score on the 18th minute. The opponent did not threat our post at all. In the 28th minute a straight red card to our def Wickett and a penalty. Parratt substituted Wickett for the empty space left by the def and after this our performance got lower. Even in 10 men, we had goal chances, but the victory has given to the home side.
Next match is all or nothing against World champion, France.

The game against France was mainly a bitter disappointed, nothing worked, played this one again with 3 strikers as we lack strong mids.
0-5 is a harsh result, loosing easily some balls and receiving goals on counter-attacks.

Finally a good win, but against a mediocre opponent. The final score should be bigger, but it is a start.
The distance between us and the 1st place is just 4 points, we are still in the game, but a win festival is mandatory as to be able to still believe in our chances.
The injuries and low form are our biggest problem.
Your input would be highly appreciated guys.

Can I ask what you see at the minimum form needed for starting players?
Personally, I would not go lower than 11. But as there are so few options, it is hard to obey this principal.
Gavin is one of our best defs, but with that low form his performance on the field would be inefficient even with his wonderful skills.

Poland have 1000+ players .. ireland have 1 injury and much weaker :(
At this moment 3 main team players are out against Paraguay - Malone, Moloney and Wale.
Not having players at the same level makes us improvise, which is not the best option.
