Form is improving for some of my Defs at least, so they should be usable again. Silver linings and all that
Your defs are like air for the team, having their form improve would be good news.
Thanks, I tried today two different tactics, the first one was slightly better. A big win which keeps us there into the battle.
De Mange is out for 18 days which is a another huge upset for our defense.
Up next is the double with Venezuela, a 6 p would be wow, a 4 p would be a nice performance.
Go lads, go!

We are next up against a crucial double encounter against Venezuela. To be or not to be to the World Cup is the big question.
We have three injuries to some important first line-ups Moloney, Dealhunty and De Mange.
He will have to deal without them. Malone should return to the team, probably Wale as well. We shall see on Friday or Saturday morning with the final update.
Hope for the best!
C'mon Ireland!

Ireland vs Venezuela 2-2
A 2-2 draw today against Venezuela, 2nd favorite into the group.
What a match. We are starting well, Wale down with a -1 day injury, but a starter today got the first goal chance into the 8th minute and afterwards opened the score with a header into the 14th minute. Our defensive line was down against their strikers because of lacking into secondary skills, otherwise we defended well.
They equalized into the second half with a ball stolen from Wickett and afterwards they took the lead with a foul by Bennion offering them a penalty.
The draw was offered by striker McEneaney, who just entered one minute before the goal, highlighting a wonderful volley.
It is only one point, but a point which still gives us hope.
1. France 13 | 21-2
2. Venezuela 11 | 14-8

3. Ireland 7 | 12-11
4. Paraguay 6 | 10-8
5. Algeria 6 | 12-12
6. Kenya 0 | 3-31

On Saturday we play a friendly against Norway, 36th ranked team.
A win would bring us some useful ranking points. We will still have Moloney, De Mange and Dealhunty out with their injuries, but I hope to have them back into the team for the return leg against Venezuela.

As the game against Norway will be a friendly, I will try to protect the players that have two yellow cards as to have them available against Venezuela and not risking to have them suspended.
Therefore, some new faces will be on the field on Saturday.

Friendly - Ireland vs Norway 0-4
Yesterday we played a friendly game against Norway.
As mentioned before, I used some players which were not threatened by suspension.
So, a couple of young lads entered the field:
- def: Kevin Rooney (23yo), Jonathan Cahill (25yo), Brendon Tormar (24yo) - played as sub and Philip Deeney (25yo) another sub
- mid: Liam Coady (25yo)
I enjoyed seeing the young lads perform. Loosing is never fun, the final score is not truly correct, sokker takes, but does not always give back.
We had 4 vs 4 goal chances with the goalie, none entered, but on the opposite side the goal got through.
Anyway, my main objective for the next week is the game against Venezuela. I hope we will have the injured players back on track and may we be excused by other injuries.

What an excellent performance, haven't played that well even with Romania to be honest.
Gk, def, mid and striker they have all been wonderful, top notch.
My worries go to Wale - a 20 days injury for the lad and with our brave defender, Foy, who will be suspended. We will have to find replacements, but now let's celebrate this magnifique win.
The win keeps us close to Venezuela with one point behind.
Next game is against Paraguay, not an easy task, we will have to work hard for another victory.
C'mon Ireland!

Wale is one of our besties in front, it is a huge upset for the entire team, NT manager, club manager and community. Unfortunately, he got injured by himself during the match :(( thanks, for the support :((
