Over the weekend the biggest upset for our National Team was the injury of our goalie - Alan Norman.
Unfortunately, he will miss at least two games, even the match against France. This does not help us, I do hope the subs will do the extra hard work.

Next up:

Kenya: raviola
Ireland: Clau_Goool
Competition: Group A
Start at: 2026-02-28
Stadium: Kenya Arena
Region: Africa
Weather: sparse clouds, warm
Expectations: This match is expected by supporters to be a tough and even game, with slight advantage to your team.

Sokker sees this one tough and even. I think against France we will be eating popcorn with their smart predictions :))

Anyway, my goal is to protect the players who might get suspension against France, so we will see some new faces on Saturday.

Kenya - Ireland 0:11

A flawless victory against Kenya with a major upset, a terrific injury for our main wing-man, Parratt , a 25 days bump into his club & nation plans.
To make things worse we stand now 10 injuries from a 40 players list, a situation I have never encountered since I manage national teams.

- Scott Darcy (10 days)
- Robert Duddy (3 days)
- Kieran Freyne (11 days)
- Jimmy McEneaney (3 days)
- Alan Norman (9 days)
- Matthew Parratt (23 days)
- Colm Reynolds (6 days)
- Darren Reynolds (13 days)
- Brendon Tormar (15 days)
- Tommy Wale (8 days)

The next match is a all or nothing game. Loosing means being out, a draw not even better if Venezuela beat Paraguay, so the only input is a win.
What a nice dream it would be to do it like here -> France vs Ireland 1-3

We should have McEneaney & Duddy back if other injuries will not damage our playlist of players.
What a decisive match against France. It is all or nothing in this one. We are the underdogs in this one, playing against the World Cup winners, wow, what a match.

C'mon Ireland!

The dream is still alive. If we win and Venezuela fail beat France we'll qualify

France vs Ireland 6-1

This result is a huge upset, I feel that 6-1 is a cruel result due to the fact that at half time it was 1-1 and from the 56th minute they played in 10 men.
There aren't much things to say about the game, we started well, 0-1, Fogharty's header was precise and we were up one. They equalized quite quick.
After half time all changed, two easy goals, a red card for them and despite playing 11 vs 10, they scored another three goals.
A cold shower for us before the last game of the campaign.

Paraguay fought hard against Venezuela and this draw, allows us to dream into the last game against Algeria.
But it will not be an easy task, all I know is that we have to fight hard against an opponent who snatches a 76% average mark.

Norman and Wale should be back healthy after their long term injuries.

C'mon Ireland!

Let's do it Parrott's way!

Best of luck today!

Thanks, Welchy!

It is a all or nothing game.
I hope the lads will make us proud at the end of the match. Either way, with injuries and bad form, I am content of how they behaved this season, even though in some games we should have behaved better.

C'mon Ireland!

Hard luck. Looked like a very even game from the stats.

We definitely deserved to win, but it was not to be, but we were very, very close.
The upset is huge as I think we played well, had the better chances. At 1-1 I changed the tactic to a more offensive one, having a 523, still the winning goal did not go for us.
We finish the qualifying season on the 3rd spot, having not lost against the qualified Venezuela. Unfortunately we lost the most important points at the beginning and at the end of the campaign against the same African team of Algeria.

Probably with the best 11 in good form and shape things would have been better. My main concern is the mid line, we stand very weak here, mids with secondary skills is a true downside for our side.

C'mon Ireland!

Better save best mid laners vs weak teams like Kenya etc cuz with bad luck u have only injuries :P

Our chance to outrun Venezuela was to have a better goal difference. I protected the players with double yellow cards, but when dealing with injuries, this is lottery.
With Parratt as a winger we would have had much better chances to gain the 2nd place.
Anyway, the biggest chance was today and it did not go through, today the ball just did not want to cross the goal line.

I was completely mad after the match, now I moved beyond. My main goal is now to play the younger mids as Truman it's at the end of his NT career and we need new blood.

Next season will be just for friendlies, we will play mainly with teams from the 30th position and lower into the World rankings.

Ahh, you were so close to promotion. You had a decent season :-)
You’ve got a +1 from me for next season!

Good luck Clau!

Thx, Antoś!
I think my main opponent were the lack of form and those damn injuries.
Parratt could have been Parrott of Ireland from the real Ireland team.

But now we must go further, a new season, new beginnings. And spring is coming, so new blood, new players, a new generation for the NT.
2026-03-15 18:28:08
As mentioned before, I want to test as much as possible the new backbone of the NT, so we will start with a U26 -> after age update U27, game against Russia.

C'mon Ireland!

Will you sign up for the Euro Championships?
