Personal comment:

I'm furiously disappointed after the second consecutive loss to penalties, and this time was plently undeserved.

We played the perfect game, defensively. In 120' the opponent collected just two head conclusion (one outside the box), then drawing 1-1 after an incredible gift by our defenders, who absurdly backheaded the ball so gifting it to their winger.

Offensively, we have were countered well by opponent who changed its defense adeguately, but we collected many chances more and more dangerously. You will see it from highlight.

Something could have been improved offensively, but we are talking about minor mistakes. Infact, we deserved to win this time.

Morever, in penalty kicks we were 2-0 after the first two shots. then missing all remaining shots for the final 2-3.

That's no funny and, instead, it's hateful. I feel as joked. I want to play a game, not a written drama.

I can be a good manager and tactician, but as you can see I'm not lucky and this depends very few by me. I am sorry about that.

The mini World Cup continues for 7°-8° positions for Ireland, and we will continue to play offensively, even more. I will take care to don't give room to any single mistake, neither minor.

Coach's comment:

Lucky, very unlucky and not only when we are talking about final penaltes, once again.

Our defense played almost the perfect match, with only one giant mistake in the only dangerous action for opponents.

Offensively, we need to become more unpredictable, that's the main point. We didn't apply the second tactic when needed, it would have helped a lot but it has been a personal mistake.

We need to improve, as we are just improving a lot match after match, expecially in defense.

Our rock solid defense will be the starting point from were to start next tactic improvements. We are working a lot on them, continue to follow us. Go Ireland!!

I didn't watch the match and I'm scared after how many shots the opponent took. I wonder how many goals he would score if he took one more shot :p

"Here we are to conclude this Mini World Cup, as for 7° and 8° place.

Even if less rated as team quality, the opponent must be respected as qualified winning against strong team as Peru, even if with much luck (2-1 in 2 vs 21 shots in match!) and it's time for us to search for more luck, either.

Slovenija is a good team overall, with strong strikers of various quality so the match his somewhat insidious, as its coach is an expert player overall.

It will be also an important test aiming to be more unpredictable, expecially in offensive phase, so the match is already under preparation, since yesterday.

Follow us for next saturday, go Ireland!!

Coach's comment:

As promised, we played almost the perfect match.

The opponent qualified as 2nd in his group, but we won without any risks and even playing an enjoyable match, scoring six goals.

We successful tested a new offensive approach, who will be improved in next friendlies.

Our final 7° place on 16 competitive teams is well deserved, as we lost only one match, against Germany who has just won the tournament. These as considering results within 90/120 minute so being defeated two times just after penalties.

Moreover, our team showed an impressive potential in both phases, now it's up to us to shape this jewel to let it bright at its best. Thank you very much for all the support until now.

Personal comment:

Finally we are showing our best stuff, the match has been perfect not only in defense this time, but also in offense were we have been more unpredictable.

It's impressive the potential of our offense, as many players are still trained in primaries and can improve a lot within next season's qualifiers.

For next oncoming friendlies other experiments will be done, so to grant any tactical choice to our team in every phase.

This 7° place is a bit deluding, but is a great first step after concluding first period of familiarization with the Irish roster, whose potential is great.

It has been also an enjoyable match, hoping you all appreciated to view it.

Week 10 friendly match

My personal introduction:

Hello everyone,

Next week we will start scheduled friendlies until the end season versus opponents of different quality.

The first one is against Chile, a top 15 nation as number of users (almost 150) and by consequence we are talking about an high quality team, sometimes able to up 80+ ratings.

Chile is managed by a local champion who won the national cup 2 times, that's further motivation to be respectful even we are slightly ahead as ranking.

The match is already in studying phase, it's important to protect or improve our ranking for the oncoming world cup qualifications and there is the chance to make improvement and experiments on each matches.

We are facing a team who just played this season in World Cup groups, so a good result would be prestigious and encouraging for a nation as Ireland.

Personal comment:

As mentioned before the match, we experimented with new formations, specifically two variations of the 4-4-2. Our main challenge was to pose a threat against a five-man defense, while our defensive phase was nearly perfect, as expected. The opponents did not manage any clean shots and only attempted three from inside the area, all resulting from individual plays.

Unfortunately, we were less effective in the offensive phase. Our forwards squandered numerous advances by moving wide, or worst decisions, instead of driving into the penalty area and taking shots. They often stopped without reason or made illogical and poorly executed passes. Despite these issues, our ball possession clearly indicates that we played better, maintaining cleaner and more continuous play. However, it should be noted that some of our forwards' movements were occasionally a bit static, which hindered our incisiveness. Additionally, our midfielders, even the most skilled ones, sometimes failed to notice clear runs from the forwards, confirming an overall performance below our usual standards.

As the match statistics suggest, a draw would have been a fairer result. Had our players performed to their true capabilities, we could have secured a narrow victory. Given the unfortunate outcome for Skyland, which lost 0-1 despite dominating the match, it is clear that unexpected results can occur.

I remain fully committed, even more motivated on focusing for preparing for the World Cup qualifiers next season. Thank you for your attention.

Additional comment:

Reviewing the match, I should notice some limits in some usual defensive movements, so probably the three shots from inside the box would have been well prevented.

I will work on it immediately since next match, so to make our defense almost perfect.

It's not a wasted performance by our team, but many things have to been improved in these modules so to make them more efficient.

I confirm, by the way, an impressive amount of badly wasted actions with blinded nonsense decisions by our players, or concluded with weak shots. Actions that would have meant 3 or 4 potential goals.

Please take a look to highlights to make your own opinion, by the way it will be my duty to improve playstyle efficience so to minimize at lowest possible, the interference of "bad luck" in game.

Friendly matches are useful for this experimental approach, I will continue to work on it up to excellence.

Friendly match - Week 11

Match introduction:

Here we are on "work in progress" on how to improve tactical efficience, possibly experimenting alternative solutions on the field.

We hadn't an opponent for Week 11 since many teams were full, so I asked Pilipinas another match, before the one already scheduled for Week 13.
So it will be a double challenge, where will be important to be unpredictable as most possible.

Pilipinas is a well managed young team who participated last Mini World Cup ranking at 13° place, showing a prosperous offense even against toughest opponents.
Infact, their overall 48° ranking position is near Ireland's 41°, so we are talking about a consistent challenge.

As always, I will aim for offer you an enjoyable match by first, aiming to well experiment any possible tactic solutions and improving by correcting every previous mistakes.

That's all, so let's prepare this first match as best as possible. Go Ireland!!

Very good match.

In attack, we're seeing promising improvements in our movements and overall fluidity. While there were moments where we could have capitalized on more goal-scoring opportunities, our team's performance was commendable. Special recognition goes to our striking duo, Banker and Gannon, in brilliant shape with these last tactics. But there's still much room for improvements.

Defensively, we were perfect. Despite facing a strong offense, we hardly gave them any chances to threaten our goal. It's also worth celebrating the return of William English, our top goalkeeper, who displayed outstanding form throughout the match.

Overall, it was a fantastic day for us, filled with successful experiments and promising performances. I'm eager to share the highlights with you later. Let's keep this positive momentum going! Go Ireland!!

I confirm we can be plently satisfied as we achieved a clear victory without any risk, against a strong defense as for players quality and opponent's covered module.
These improvements are very encouraging, so we are on the right route and the experiment on new modules can be considered successful.

It's just the beginning, so aiming to be more upredictable match by match by experimenting multiple tactic options.
As you know, I also try to offer the attendance an enjoyable and realistic match as more as possible. So we are improving also about this issue.
