A very nice presentation of the lineup for the match against Croatia, I like it! :)
Who is in the schedule for the next matches in the tournament? Croatia seems to be beyond our level :)

No worries, helped me visualise the makeup of the squad easily too.

Tough one against Croatia, had to defend a lot and hope for something on the counter but wasn't to be. I was not too disappointed to go into division 4, although i think we have the top rated side in the division in Bosnia and Herzegovina next :)

Silver lining is we technically scored more goals than they did today ;)

Bosnia and Herzegovina 2 - 1 Ireland (After extra time)

A little bit gutted as i thought we'd pulled off the heist taking the lead on 84 minutes but they scored quickly after and then not long into extra time and the quality difference was just a bit too much in the end. Some positives and a few things to tweak (Strikers in particular) but hope for a bit more luck with a slighty easier opponent! (think it might be Macedonia)

Pretty close considering the gap in team rating. Tactics are working pretty well it seems.

Thanks, still learning my way around the tactics board a bit but have a couple that seem to work well. With a bit of development over the next season + i actually think the squad might not be too bad, so i would like a couple of good results to finish off the season before elections etc..

Practically every opponent we faced was better than us :)

Thats a fair comment, it does seem like the weaker teams got bunched together at the top of our group. Having been in other countries with AFCON and Asia Cup i wanted to make sure i could get decent opponents and more importantly use U20 as very few were willing to use them in friendlies before the Druids cup. Although i do see this as a longer term project, i would like a result or two to go our way before the season ends :)

And on the plus side there have been a few new users sign up, so hopefully they can stick around.

Thought I would get in early with my intention of re-running for the Ireland U21 Job, I have really enjoyed getting into a more active nation and putting my (slightly) increased free time to good use.

As I said at the last election, I (and hopefully you) saw this as a long term project and have put in a lot of work into the side building the database and tracking of the talent that the whole nation possesses every week (Training and youth pulls Thursdays and Tactics for the games Friday plus other bits in the week). As someone who doesn't have an Irish academy I also thought it was very important to get some Irish trainees who are starting to develop and hopefully make the side consistently in the future.

Results have been mixed(and I am fuming at todays), and looking back I might have avoided the Druids Cup next time but I was keen to use U20 players given the next cycle has competitive competition and our current 21s were miles better than those coming through so needed a practical look at what we had. Tactics is something i am always working on as a more inexperienced manager but I don't think we were far away from some really good results in the last few games. Should you wish to go for a more experienced manager then I would understand, but I don't believe outside of that I could of done much more.

I actually don't think the squad is in too bad a shape for the future now with some good younger players coming through and a few more users to hopefully boost the talent pool. (We have about 60 U21s worth tracking at the moment)


So yeah, i'd love to continue the job and will always give it the maximum attention and work that it needs. Thanks :)

Same. It's never going to be an easy job doing the U21s with the small user base we have. Having a plan and enthusiasm for the role is what we need so I'm glad you plan to continue

Much appreciated. Yes i try to be as open as possible with what I/We have to work with as a Nationand what areas are lacking talent and need improving.

Also im selling a fair few trainees so have the spaces and cash atm if you have anyone you want to move on as i would rather do my bit an take on Irish players where possible.
