Ireland 2 - 2 Tunisia
Thought we were pretty awful and one of our worst performances for a little while.. They played high up the pitch and both their shots were goals where as we were wasteful with what we created. Next week is a break in qualifying so i will decide on the level of team that we will play in the friendly week (probably a mid/lower level similar to Tunisia to work on scoring/attacking) and we currently sit 4th in the group.
I will also re-sort and post the player rankings as there have been a decent amount of pops across the board and some guys have been bought up to new owners so might be useful to see where each player sits in their age/overall.

Yes my bad, Friday work meant it was a bit of a late rush to get the setup in and i didnt create a fresh tactic to combat the lines so was a bit of an issue. Having a very quick look over the youth side of things alot of the better players are 20yrs/21 now so will miss out on the next cycle but there are a crop of good 19s that i like at the moment. I wont bore on about a striker again but i do think it would really transform this team if a very good one was unearthed from somewhere! :)
Tunisia 1 - 2 Ireland
(Have been really busy so a bit late to this)
A confusing game, their Goalkeeper had a bit of a worldie and i was expecting to snatch a late draw after loads of missed chances but the substitutes made a difference with Adrian Adams scoring the winner in the 83rd minute. Although i would of liked 6 points vs Tunisia i think their manager is very good with the fairly limited resources he has, and it solidifies us in 4th spot in the group before the hardest fixture in the next round.

Hi all,
Thought i would jump the gun and get my request to carry on as the U21 manager.
World Cup qualifying is nearly over and we will finish an about par 4th, a tricky group and i was keen to beat Tunisia and be competitive which i think we largely have done. Next season will be tough losing 5 solid starters as they age out, and will need alot of work and planning for the next World Cup cycle (which i am keen to do) and Strikers would be an area i would try and tackle myself as we lack a goal threat vs the better sides. Druids Cup vs improving ranking would also need to be tackled as to what is more beneficial.
As i always say if an Irish Manager wants to take it on then that is more than fair, but i have (and still do) enjoy my couple of seasons in charge of the U21s and would like to continue. Thanks :)

Crack on I'd say. Hopefully Adams will be a strong striker option for you in a season or so.
Appreciate it, Yes him and McAleese who plays for a team in Mexico are the only real options as everyone else cycles out by the next world cup quali but Adams seems like a consistent popper even with an injury earlier on (if my memory is right!).
Once elections are underway i will have a deep dive into areas we are short as i look at trainees etc for the new year and see if there is anything in the newly botted teams worth saving.

If you still want to work on U21, go for it! :)
I must admit that I have a little less time lately... which doesn't affect my observation of teams and players both NT and U21... but I'm still rooting for you!
Good luck sir! :)

Absolutely want to carry on as U21s Coach and its definitely a long term project! Shame some of the new users didnt stick around as even a few extra numbers would give me a few more players to play around with, but there is a solid group of managers in the Irish Premiership.
Well the NT has been doing really well even if you have got less time :)
Appreciate the support and am still learning but slowly getting better (i hope!)

Cheers Ron, if i can get a couple of votes in the bag i should have a couple of free days next week to do a bit of a deep dive/planning.
There's essentially 3 of us that vote in the election each year so I'd say you're pretty safe
Thanks, as i say i understand if you want an Irish manager with a youth school but will always try and take on trainees when i can to support the cycle/system :)
