Subject: Ireland vs Hungary

This next one will take a lot of work in the preparation, if we can hope to come away with some kind of result

I'll be looking at as many games as I can to come up with a suitable formation.

Downside
We'll be missing Armstrong & Keenan for the first game against hungary but hopefully they'll be back for the return leg.

Peru, Mexico and Canadas formations yesterday are all good examples of layouts that look simple but are very hard to break down. The tricky part is getting the offensive movement right and looking at these games it's easy enough to spot some mistakes that could improve them.

One thing that's definitely worth analysing is the way a DM is used to cover the wing and also to arrange throw ins. Against a good defence like Hungary chances will be hard to come by and properly arranged throw-ins (with the DM throwing to the off mid in space) are like free kicks.

Shane, what would you do against Hungary?
I think we're going into it with nothing to lose and everything to gain so i think we may as well go for it.
A draw still means we'd be two points down on France after round 5 and still need to beat them (Providing Nigeria and Iceland dont pull of any shocks) to get through the group.

I think a clean sheet would be my main aim, anything after that would be a bonus. For the first game Armstrong (our best player imho) will be out injured and we don't have any real options up front. In an open game, where at best we'd get as many chances as them, they're very likely to outscore us.

If Executor had two good strikers in form I'd back him to get a result against France. Matthews and Fairclough are potentially two 55+ rating strikers in better form and that would give us a real chance.

I'm inclined to agree with Shane on this.
But I won't publish any tactics on this forum.

Doesn't look good now, does it? We need a point against Hungary next week or i dont think we've any chance. The goal difference between us and France is too much.

well,
you can go to the final in 4 seat it is ten grup and all team in the 1,2 and 3 seat will go to the final,
then ther is 2 seat left and 2 best team in 4 seat will join,
butt i dont no have the will do it we have 5 team grup and 6 team grup,
i thing in 6 team grup the point you get from bottom team will be delete,

Last time i checked the 4th place teams, we were pretty much bottom of them.

i thing Mexico and România and Ireland are all in doing good job (well if iceland will be 5 and Nigeria 6) becous you all did draw against oppement so will end in one of third
if you win my again then you will end 7 point (if iceland end 5)
butt if nigeria end 5 then you will end whit 4 point

maybe try to use more symetrical tactic :) especially in a middle area, because some of them are completly useless on the pitch and are not protecting an important space ahead of penalty area

wow that was wild :). Better to experiment with tactics in friendlies IMHO.
Apart from what the polish guy said i think agains a strong opponent like hungary it is suicidal to push the sides of the defense so up. You were defending with only 2 players really.

Anyway I played similar tactics in the cup and lost 0-5 :)
