Subject: Ireland vs Hungary

wow that was wild :). Better to experiment with tactics in friendlies IMHO.
Apart from what the polish guy said i think agains a strong opponent like hungary it is suicidal to push the sides of the defense so up. You were defending with only 2 players really.

Anyway I played similar tactics in the cup and lost 0-5 :)

I think the problem with playing an unbalanced team is that when you leave spaces, the rest of the team gets pulled out of position filling them. We didn't have anyone driectly central either, meaning you pull both defenders out of position if the ball comes down the middle.
Having only 3 attacking players meant we had no chance anyway. I cant remember much else about the game.

I 'm a little bit anoyed that the players don't seem to behave the way i want them to in the tactic editor

i'll have to really oevr exagerate the defesive poitioning in the next game

If you position them somwhere and there is a gap infront, they'll run into the gap to get the ball. If they're slow they'll get beaten to it and will then be caught out of position. I think that happened a lot and the only way to fix it is to have someone covering the area the ball is in. Usually a defensive mid who'll patrol infront of the defence so they dont have to come out.

try to place your central midfielders like it is in my tactic...

maybe try in a friendly or sth..

Great game to watch, a completely different story than last time...unlucky about the red card.

I have two suggestions to even better this already solid tactics:
1/ throw-ins (first goal)
2/ push forwards further up so they have a chance for a breakaway, they have very little chance after getting the ball up the pitch and running agains defence line.

Really one of the best matches i've seen on SK and this time i feel it's a bit unfair you lost.

The Irish tactic was not bad, but with this kind of tactic you can only minimalize the defeat against a better team.
Lizrraga's sent off was unlucky but it didn't decide anything.
Our defense gave completely no room for the strikers, and distance shots are not enough to beat our keeper. If the strikers went through our defensive-line, our inner-defenders tackled them from behind easily.
I wonder why Fairclough came in only as a substitute.

Feel free to use the tactic when you play against Croatia

i think that when You play agist better team You shoud try to play only with one striker, and try too play with more midfilders. wingers are very good agist better rivals - there isn't any defence agist their crosses. Shoots from head are very effective:)

Which midfielders would you suggest i play?

Which striker would you prefer i use ?

Well, I answered to jirka's post. I know we have way much more users and you have only one season advantage which means is likely that we have better players.
Btw I'll use this kind of tactic against Croatia 'cause I know that our chances are very slight.
