Nin [del] to
All
..i think i should say sorry for how i've been recently. I've had all manner of problems in the last couple of weeks and it's left me a bit irrate and unstable. Right, to business.
* At this point Nin wishes he'd found last elections speech and pasted it *
I think last time round i said i was a fast learner but hadn't been around long enough to prove it. In the last season i think i've shown that i'm capable of competing with limited resources against teams that are better than myself and that would obviously come in handy with the national team.
After the last election i had a think about things and decided that if couldn't manage the team i'd at least do as much as i can to make this an interesting place to be to try and keep the newbies that we've had coming in. Whether its been sucessful or not i'm not sure but i've certainly tried my best and i do think things are improving.
Now as for the national team, i've been watching them all season, looking for players etc and i've got my own (although quite limited) database of information on them, formations, ages, positions etc, that i knocked up about 3 weeks ago. If anyone wants to see how much work i put into it i'd be happy to yousendit to them (As much as i'd love to paste the link on here, i know there are spies)
My plans for the national team this season are simple, rise in the rankings and get a good spot for the WC. Anyone wanting to me to take on Poland etc in friendlies is wasting their time voting for me. That doesn't mean i'll be taking easy games all season though. Once i've settled i want to be testing out formations against teams more at our level, Australia i think interest me because of how wide they played last time i saw them. The first 5 or 6 games would definitely be against lower teams though while i'm ironing out any flaws in formations.
* Nin refers to database *
At the moment i've got a main squad of 24 players and about 15 just outside of it.
Oh thats something i forgot to mention. I've heard of an existing database of Irish players, i'm not sure how complete it is but i would be contacting everyone at some point to update or eloborate in that information.
If you dont trust me with that info, dont vote for me. I dont do things by half measures and i dont want to end up with a squad i dont know the details of.
If you've read all that, well done.

i have a question, given your proneness to outbursts, moodswings and general tendencies to throw strops and threaten to quit games when things arent going your way, how can we as voters be safe in the knowledge you arent going to do this when things go wrong with the NT team? Only last week you said you were going to quit.
That's a bit harsh there everest and nare a smiley face to make it go down easy... : )
I expected nothing less from her unfortunately. We've not exactly been friends recently. Ignore it.
I thought about that before i applied. I wouldnt take the job on if i was going to abandon it halfway through.

I don`t wanna talk bad about other managers. But in my opinion the national coach should work serious and if you wanted to quit I would say that thats not realy serious...
I only ask you, because the Irish national team use a manager with experience and one who gives 100 percent of his power for the NT.

Had you been watching the forums this past season you will have seen how much i've put in and you wouldn't be questioning whether i would put in 100%
That's not good :(
Are you serious, did ye fall out in real life? or just on the net?

Just on the net. We've known each other for a long time. It's not worth getting into a discussion about though.
its a legitimate question when you consider he threw similar hissy fits like the one here on hattrick and blamed the game engine and quit that, so when he did the same thing here its stands to reason to believe he is potentially not the ideal candidate for a job where hes not only playing for himself
I walked away from Hattrick for two reasons. After 18 months I was bored and i wanted to cut myself off from you. You were the only reason i stayed on there as long as i did.
Hattrick allowed me to walk away because i had no responsibilities to anyone else. I would never quit anything where i had people relying on me.

Still only two Irish candidates? No-one else going to try their luck?
